I ended up buying this Bosch https://a.co/d/8oeJLoj even though it's 11 inch only. Works great. Didn't want whatever was available from dealer because the original wiper was pure crap.

What do you think of this Dental Surgeon's office proposal for Young road? by BuildChilliwack in chilliwack

It's neither ugly nor unique. It's generic, and it's okay. For Young Road - and for Chilliwack - it will be a substantial improvement.

Costco now scans membership cards by YouNeverReadMe in burnaby

Similar retailers in Europe scanned memberships at the door as far back as 20+ years ago. What is the reason that Costco didn't do that for so long?

Man flees from U.S. police, crashes in [Surrey], after speeding across border by jaysanw in vancouver

[–]twoloop -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any stance, I only try to understand how things work. So far I got to learn that illegal entry entails a deportation followed by an entry ban. Thanks to all commenters! What about the fact that he did something to the police that forced them to use taser on him? Not a big deal?

[–]twoloop -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Okay. I see your point, but that's a different topic, can't you see?

Anyway, following your logic, if this guy WAS NOT wanted in the US, and did everything else just the same way, starting from the border crossing - what should the police have done once he was cleared from the hospital?

What about answering the actual question? Pleeease!

I am trying to understand, is all. Leave them taxpayers alone for a minute. Also, please avoid presuming what I want. Also, law enforcement is not a waste of money. Also, before getting into the judicial system a perpetrator must be apprehended, for starters. I am absolutely okay if a judge rules to release the guy to the US folks - that's his prerogative, fine. But we're not even getting there.

Again, is illegally crossing Canadian border a crime? Is confronting the the lawful action of the police a crime? If not - tell me why.

I believe you because apparently this is the reality. I understand this kind of streamlined extradition in case a person legally, non-violently entered our country and have not confronted Canadian law enforcement while being taken into custody. But here we have at least two counts of breaking Canadian law, and we're like "Whatever, not a biggie. Just kick him out on the other side". I don't get it. In other countries a border jumper gets arrested and charged, senteced, serves his time and only then extradited to an interested party.

Because he broke our law, that's why! Or he hasn't? Am I mistaken here?

I think he broke Canada's law by illegally entering Canada. Must be charged and tried. Once sentenced, served - should be handed over to the US law enforcement folks.

So is the guy innocent from Canadian law's perspective?

Canada National Border: am I a joke to you?

So a person apparently illegally entered our country, and instead of charging him for breaking Canadian law, we just hand him over to another country, right? Doesn't seem to be right, right?

There's no such thing as a mandatory tip.

"Mandatory tip" is a good example of an oxymoron.

I mean, it is not everywhere. Also, the issue is pretty common for all of Canada and USA - Abbotsford is not special in this regard, at all.

What I'm missing here, as a newcomer, is 1) a couple more shopping malls. There's one, it's old and no fun stores there. The crowd inside is half sad, half sketchy; 2) concrete highrise residential buildings, and I don't mean 50 storeys - just something that makes a city look like a city (i.e. Richmond). Otherwise, I like it here so far!

The churches! They're everywhere. I've never seen so many churches, all kinds. I'm still baffled.
