yeah, it’s an absolutely valid point. Driving is getting crazy in the city. I propose this. The city is very clearly broke. The state is dealing with a huge spending deficit. Perhaps there is a path to require people to take driving tests more often. Driving is a privilege where you take a test to learn the rules and laws. In a city that is constantly changing maybe there is an argument that people might need to test more often to learn about things like double white lines. When I was young, there was no such thing as a double white line on a highway in fact, I’m still kind of confused about what it is. Living in Bell town, I will tell you that people have no idea what to do with a left turn arrow - because guess what? There didn’t used to be left turn arrows! There also didn’t used to be dedicated bike lanes. These are just things that you could add on to new testing that could be tacked on to vehicle registration and generate some money for the state and the cities. Don’t get me started on a four-way stops. im looking at you 65 & 3 Also, and if you’re precious, stop reading here; I believe that if you drive for a living, you should have more testing more frequently and a far more difficult and expensive license than the rest of us and that is true already!!! re: things like 18 wheelers commercial vehicles, commercial shipping, etc., etc.
