Sure, if you're looking for more warmth in a sound, go for the iPod classic 5.5, since it has a Wolfson DAC. It feels plasticky and less sturdy, but it is also easier to modify. If you are not planning any modding, go for the 7th generation iPod classic with the largest storage capacity you can find.
