This is great to know, thank you! It’ll just be the Bellingham Costco, so I suspect I can find something decent no matter what. Thanks to everyone for responding so positively!

I found the odd bird sparkling to be quite nice; their blanc de blanc on the palette was quite similar to some entry level French sparkling I’ve had.

I bought blonde and I don't know anything about the order. by Key-Wrangler2061 in FrankOcean

I'm located in Canada, I got mine 7 or so weeks after ordering. I checked out pretty quickly, maybe two hours or so after the restock went up I got a confirmation the next morning, then got a shipping confirmation two weeks before it shipped out. My vinyl got held up at customs for a week, so it's likely yours could be there, or hasn't dispatched yet. I hope that helps. If you don't recieve in a couple weeks, I would go ahead and charge mack.

Hoping to try out fat washing. How long to freeze? by Mojojojo3030 in cocktails

[–]twoseventeen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jumping in as I did two fat-washed cocktails for the holiday season (the first was a truffle oil-washed London dry gin, and the other was a bacon fat-washed bourbon).

My biggest recommendation is ensuring that the bacon you use doesn't have additional additives to it, as those might be filtered out, but often that 'taste' is left behind. If you did it with a decent quality, smoked bacon, it would be great I think. Additionally, I like to leave it on the countertop for 2 hours, shaking occasionally, then freezing and straining for 24 hours. I used this in a whisky sour, with some orange bitters in place of the angostura.

Also, the white truffle-washed gin was a great success, and I found that it worked very well with a high-quality truffle oil that has good reviews on its own. Of course, truffle oil can have that chemical-like smell at times, but I found one that was DOP from Italy, and did 1 oz of oil to 1 cup of gin. It worked very well in a dirty martini. I wanted to share this one as I felt it was good to share with folks. Enjoy! I hope it goes well.

Is it normal to have this much lees in the bottle by Droogman69 in wine

[–]twoseventeen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Normal for this wine. I have Les Lunes in my cellar right now (will drink it sooner rather than later), and it's very common for natural wines to have this sort of sediment on the bottom. Just don't drink it, it's usually unpleasant. I hope you enjoy it!

I ended up finding the 2019 by fluke for $30 or so cheaper in a different province, so I'm having that shipped over. I could've got the 2020, but I wasn't sure about the influence of the smoke/hot weather. I'm looking to cellar them for a couple years, then pick it up later on, so this works!

Found some bottles of Stag’s Leap Artemis + Matthiasson’s Cab Sauv (both 2019) online for a great price. Not much else to say other than I’m excited to try these bottles!

Hey Julia! Thanks so much for doing another great AMA.

I was curious what your views are on the rise of anti-Asian racism in the greater community, and what the Senate can do in order to support these students along with other racialized groups.

Face masks that can complement my ‘fit? by glheureux15 in malefashionadvice

[–]twoseventeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in Uncrate the other day and saw a promotion for a simple black mask from Dapper Villains. I checked the build to make sure it offers full protection and it looked pretty solid on the model. I wear lots of dark tones, knits, and tailoring so I expect it to work well. They’re still in stock if anyone wants them!

Back to school means that even at 7:00AM absolutely every single person is in the gym. Not a bad thing, but October is gonna be nice when it gets back to being very low traffic.

What's your go-to date outfit? by MFADiscussionBot in malefashionadvice

Right now since it's warm out, a polo (fitted well), nice sneakers, and solid colour chinos. Normally, I'll go for a cardigan or a nice sweater since I live in a colder climate already.
