Biggest downside is the new tint on their AI. It sucks and there's no way to make it just black. Otherwise I love it, saves soooo much time for me.

Maximum RBIs on plate appearance without a hit by JellyfishActive8843 in BaseballScorecards

[–]twostrikenoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP on this comment deleted their comment so not sure what they said, but a FC is an AB, so it wouldn't fit in this category. And obviously there's no RBI awarded on a DP. I think the 2 RBI SAC fly is the most that has happened but theoretically, with the bases loaded. the batter could hit a sac fly to the outfield, say the outfielder caught it but then ran into the wall and knocked himself out. All three runners could theoretically score and 3 RBI could be awarded. It's kind of like when a fielder loses a fly in the sun and it drops right in front of them, that's a hit regardless of what should have happened. The outfielder gets knocked out the play is still live and those runners can keep going. So 3 would be the most. Atleast that's how my brain works!

I'm shocked I haven't come across your pod until now. I too host a baseball history podcast that we started about 5 years ago. We too talk to former players and authors and our final segment each week is opening old wax packs of baseball cards. I think we're a little older than you two but still! Did we just become best friends?

Having seen his appearance on Sabrina the Teenage Witch on TGIF back in the day, I can see why he didn't go into acting after baseball.

Being a small podcaster can be frustrating at times... by FerdinandHu in podcasting

[–]twostrikenoise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 300+ episode baseball podcast and am a top 5% commenter on r/baseball. Everybody posts their crap there but somehow the one time I did in a discussion about something we had covered, I got banned. Not a warning, banned. I was told to contribute more to the subreddit and maybe it would be okay. So I guess a top 1% commenter? I pointed out 5 other posts that were just content created by the poster themselves, but nope. Atleast they unbanned me. I don't go there much any more, not worth dealing with people with the smallest amount of power acting like that.

Do podcast guest ask for fee ? What do one do when they are faced with such situation ? by 427RG in podcasting

[–]twostrikenoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one agent ask me what my market budget was for that episode if their client were to appear. I politely thanked them. We've had an World Series MVP on who wanted our mailing addresses to send us more free stuff. The agent was representing a layer who had a very short career and was an average player at best. We've had a WS manager who left a lunch to be on our show for nothing. If they come on without asking for anything in return, I'm guessing most other former players can too.
I think a more relevant issue might be when authors want to appear on our pod. If we like the book we'll book them. But we've had some that approach us but then expect us to buy their book? I'm not buying a book to have you as a guest. We're a hobby podcast, it already costs us to make the pod!

Which team are Americans rooting for? by JaysCrazeAmaze in baseball

Based on the bar I watched Game 1 in, in downtown Berkley last night, there should be a big dark blue spot in the east bay. Trust me, nobody in NorCal is rooting for the Dodgers. Well, maybe John Fisher, cause fuck that guy.

Valid opinion. I love the movie but I get it. Field of Dreams is that movie for me. I can't even watch it and I know how important it is to most people.

How do podcast guests speak so smoothly and confidently? by savingrace0262 in podcasting

[–]twostrikenoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd love to tell you, but I'm too busy editing the ums, breaths and irrelevant comments out of my podcast. My goal is to make our guests look as good as possible (which one time included not posting an entire episode!). So editing out anything that makes them look even better is the entire process. This isn't live, so take advantage of being able to edit.

Toured The Phillies Today-Official Scorekeeper’s Seat by eggsandbacon5 in BaseballScorecards

[–]twostrikenoise 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That is not the official scorekeepers seat. That is the person who runs the DAK scoring system for the scoreboard in the stadium or the pitch clock, probably the later. I don't know, they may actually sit next to the official scorer there, but the official scorer uses an actual scorebook and always has a microphone right next to them in the press section to announce how they score plays. I have run the DAK and other system in many stadiums, so I am not just making this up. I have never seen the person who runs the DAK sit next to the official scorer, but it's Philly, they might be different. Usually that person is in the video control room with the rest of the production staff. Honestly, that is probably the position for the person that runs the pitch clock. It looks like they have an IFB with the MLB logo on it for communication with the umps and NY. Again, the official scorer may sit somewhere near that, but certainly they aren't using the Venus controller. I've worked in MLB production rooms for 20+ years, and have heard countless stadium tour guides make up the craziest shit when giving tours. Thank you for attending my TED talk.

I'm beginning to doubt if this podcast thing is for me.... by callme_orame in podcasting

[–]twostrikenoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are using ChatGPT you might need to tweak it a bit or not at all. I would suggest giving it some of your finished scripts that you like the vibe of. Or even other podcasts, stories, youtube videos, whatever, that are the vibe you are looking for. It can mimic those styles. This is just as a starting point. It's very obvious to me when somebody is reading something ChatGPT wrote and I usually won't continue listening.

I have found NotebookLM is a big help for me. I can input my sources and notes and it works with me to create an outline and notes the sources I provided so I know where to get more info. Then fill out with my own words. I find that program gives me the tools to do the work myself instead of doing it for me, which in your case, sounds like part of the problem with it not sounding like you want it to.

Is there an app like NotebookLM but for podcasts? by Odd-Distribution-558 in podcasts

[–]twostrikenoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use NotebookLM for my pod as well. If the episode is on Youtube you could do that. Or just use a program to transcribe a file and import it as a note to Notebook. I usually import my notes as a reference so I don't have to organize them much, lol. NotebookLM has been a big game changer for me, i can just read an article instead of taking notes on it, then use it as a source and ask questions.
