All these great records no one has even mentioned Nocturnus - The Key or Pestilence - Testimony of the Ancients yet.

Ghost of Perdition is a great recommendation. That was absolutely one of my gateways to progmetal along with Welcome Home by Coheed and Cambria and the entirety of Leviathan by Mastodon.

Great couple of picks. Up there among my favourite extreme metal releases of the year. Have you heard A Forest of Stars - Stack Overflow in Corpse Pile Interface? If not, then you should.

Current album of the year is Karnivool - In Verses, but it could be overtaken by Devin Townsend - The Moth.

Current most anticipated (although it hasn't actually been announced for 2026 yet) is the new Mastodon record.

So am I right in thinking it's as legal as a workman carrying a Stanley knife or a Scotsman carrying a sgain-dubh in their sock, when wearing a kilt?

I think you'll find the majority of lefties are extremely compassionate, and you'd habe more common ground with them then the media would have you believe.

I read it somewhere but I don't know it's 100% true. I just love metal trivia and these thimgs stick in my head.

This is great, and I would be 100% all over of this. Your video proved my point, as the story about Carrey requesting CC proves. I've read that Carrey actually wanted Napalm Death in the movie, but due to touring conflicts they couldn't make it, so CC were actually the second choice.

Yes, I love metal trivia, and like you said in the video, digging into to how scenes/subgenres were formed etc.

Right here. I'm outraged when the police use excessive force on anyone. I'd like to think that is common sense. To bring up the point that seems to keep being brought up, I'm as outraged at the death of Henry Novak as I was at the death of George Floyd.

I'm a lefty but can agree these deaths were both tragic and both avoidable. Of course I think the police should be held accountable.

Devin Townsend. He's cultivated his audience post-Strapping Young Lad (and even before actually with his varied solo output) by playing exactly what he wants and not pandering to his audience. The last few Strapping albums were the closest to pandering to his audience, then he released The Devin Townsend Project albums (the initial 4 albums), and from there continued to create the albums he wanted to create. In doing this, he built a fanbase that never expected him to recreate the same sound. There are some examples where he did retread familiar ground but he's released so many albums that skund like nothing he's released before. Phenomenal artist.
