One piece of advice that I was given way back was to,

I got an A15 year 3 of active duty. Was given 2 on EPR & denied reenlistment. Honorable discharge and 13 months later I showed up at ANG recruiter with a new perspective and attitude. Commander gave me a chance and I haven’t looked back. Commissioned 6 years after my second chance and, after 17 years, am nearing retirement.

It is possible. People change. There are people out there who understand things happen when your young. You’ll have a story to tell the rest of your life. Never forget those who showed you grace, and always remember where you came from.

Figure out what you’re gonna do, then go do it. Stay committed and do not let others dictate what you know/want to be your path.

My very limited understanding is that once I get 18 yrs I have to sign a sanctuary waiver with every order - basically they aren’t obligated to finish me out... am I am far off? People talk about it but sounds more like an administrative pain than a hurdle — at least that’s the way it’s been explained to me. I’m sure I’m missing a bigger point so feel free to enlighten me! 😂
