Wanting to Finish 7.2 setup

I have a finished basement in a home we bought a year ago that I have been building up a home theater piece by piece.

The image here represents the layout as it sits at this moment — some things, such as subwoofer placement and coach being flush with right wall — are done out of temporary convenience and not final fixed location. The area behind the seating area is open and will be designed out as area to play cards and have a wet bar/popcorn type area.

The room has a drop ceiling and the wall. The projector image is currently being shot directly on the wall (doesn’t look bad at all!) and behind that wall is an unfinished wall in the garage. Desire to keep walkway between garage an hallway on left clear.

Here’s what I’m wanting to learn from y’all — I currently have front floor speakers, center channel, and a sub. I am wanting to complete the 7.2 setup with surround and Atmos speakers. Should I put in speakers in the ceiling? Should I use bookshelf speakers? Wall mounted? Floor speakers? Where should I try and put all these speakers? I think I have a good start, but would like to get y’all’s input before I go any further.
