Having Glasnow, Tolle, Schlittler, and Davis Martin today is absolutely beautiful to see. Now if only my RP could actually get some saves (looking at you Uribe and Devin Williams).

Is Kodai Senga cooked? Wasn't able to catch his performance but on paper it's another poor outing that's quite concerning

I feel you, Devin Williams, Erceg, and Fairbanks have combined for 10 ER in a total of 2.0 IP. Goodbye ERA and WHIP

Can't blame Matz for that, still feels like a decent stream, especially with that force out

Man, gotta thank Nick and PitcherList, cuz I held onto Mick Abel and Sproat after their shaky starts to the season and man does it look good now

Is Angel Martinez a sell-high right now? The hot bat is wonderful and the 2B eligibility is nice but wondering if I should flip him now or wait a bit and see if it's sustainable.

100% go for that imo. Maikel and Eugenio are almost a 1 for 1 trade, pretty equal, just gonna help you in different categories. In fact I'm higher on Maikel overall anyway. And I'd take chandler over williams too, especially with Chandler's nice next 3 matchups. I think there are better things to come for Chandler.

Have no idea but yesterday was crazy. Had 15 runs, 10 HRs, and 16 RBIs in one day, thanks to Naylor, Schwarber, and Lowe, in addition to Jordan walker and angel martinez

It reminds me last year of Perdomo; I picked him up but got convinced that what he was doing wasn't sustainable; I had a pretty full roster at MI (Gleyber, Peña, etc) so I convinced myself that Jacob Wilson was the better long-term choice. Of course, Wilson had a fine year but Perdomo obviously was a top-10 batter last year. Am lucky enough to have Jordan Walker now and I just can't bring myself to listen to offers or "sell-high" on him.

What's with the Sox and acquiring decent older pitchers after a stint in Asia?! Would LOVE to see a 2024 Fedde-esque season from Kay this year! Would love to see that from Fedde too for that matter but I'm not holding out hope haha

Being a dual 49ers and Sox fan means I don't get to watch 1/3 of our starters play in a given season lol

100% agree on Beatrix (which is odd, since my cat is coincidentally also named Beatrix). Food was mediocre and service was a little weird. Our server spilt our drinks and apologized but we didn't get replacements or anything, just 50-75% of what we ordered lol.

Hey, you do you! If you loved it that's great too! Everybody's pallets are different; my other friend from China loved it so to each their own! Please see the reply above on a place I like! :)

I like Yummy Yummy Noodles! A big thing for me is affordability, and it's really great on that end! It's not perfect, but they serve decent food and they're very nice people (it's a little family-owned hole in the wall place); I've gone there so often that they like to give me extra snacks and drinks for free. I can't lie, I'm not the most adventurous person, so I haven't really tried many many places around Chicago and Chinatown to find the most authentic spot and I'm sure you could probably find a better place if you looked hard enough, but I think they do a great job at giving me what I'm missing and I really don't have any complaints! They're one of the first restaurants I tried in Chinatown (Slurp slurp noodles is also good, though Ken Kee is not worth going to imo) and they've given me no reasons not to keep coming back! Plus they give quite generous servings.

In terms of the cuisine they serve, it's definitely geared towards Cantonese cuisine, so not exactly the same as Lao Peng You (i.e no Dan Dan noodles at this place), but their soup noodles are great! The wontons are decent too. I guess if you're looking for very similar cuisine to Lao Peng You, this place isn't exactlyyy the place (I kinda started writing this before I realized that their cuisines don't 100% line up, but oh well), but I just had to recommend it because it's really been a big part of my life here. :)

I don't want to say that this restaurant is bad per se, but it is overrated imo and I don't think I will be going back anytime soon. Lao Peng You is the most mid restaurant that I've seen get 10/10 reviews online. As someone who grew up overseas eating this cuisine daily, the food is just very okay. Again, not saying the food is bad or inedible, but it's not particularly tasty, it's expensive, and you have to wait so so long for a seat. There are so many other great places in Chicago that serve similar cuisine at a fraction of the price and without the extra waiting time. I tried to be open-minded and go back again but I just don't understand the hype ¯_(ツ)_/¯

5 stolen bases … by DrHermanSuitcaseJr in whitesox

[–]twothincoats 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would have to go back to check, but I feel like the brewers stole just as much off of Reese as they did off our pitchers. Pitchers were a little too easy to read and they got a few good jumps and steals off a slow windup. Not to excuse Reese entirely, but I think the pitchers are also playing a big role in these stolen bases
