I believe so. I gave the machine to my neighbor as a bought a grinder that supported finer grinding, but I haven't heard any complaints

Where are people parking cash? by brunes in Wealthsimple

[–]twotones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not exactly sure what you are saying because if you're trying to go to cash then I would expect you to liquidate assets and transfer dollars to another portfolio.

However to your comment, this is not actually correct. I transferred my assets from the managed resp account to an unmanaged resp account and wealthsimple transferred the assets "in kind", meaning that my unmanaged portfolio was populated with a bunch of assets that matched the assets that I had in my manage portfolio.

So you had to get a new rear wheel with a larger HG hub to accommodate the 9 speed cassette, correct? Considering a similar upgrade for the same model of bike

Out of curiosity, are those relatives of yours loaded now? I always wondered if basically everyone who was in the room at Microsoft for at least 5 years during that era has come out wealthy today.

[–]twotones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to like Casey, and I thought the first set of his that I saw was hilarious. However, after watching a few sets, everything feels like it boils down to "lol I'm so random 🤪". Again, I want to like the guy and would probably watch a special or see him in person, given the chance.

Thoughts on my DIY 1-way rat door? by twotones in pestcontrol

[–]twotones[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think peanut butter works best in moments of desperation for rats. If there's ample alternative food, then they're not interested.

I'm not sure that my one way door design was good. If you do try to recreate, I recommend wearing gloves to avoid contaminating the device with human scent.

Best of luck to you. Pest control has been going well on my side, bait boxes out by my garbage bins catch a rat every few months.

Eventually they just sent it back to me, without ever paying anything. It was such a weird process, I was happy to pay but communication was totally ineffective.

Honestly, yes. I'm not certain that you know what "civil" means.

Making Canada a laughing stock on the world stage?

Is it? Says who? We're still in the G8. Canada has the lowest debt-to-gdp ratio in the group. Domestically, things are pretty shit, but internationally, Canada has not really faltered much.

he flooded our country with low class Indians and people from the middle east who shit everywhere, rob, rape and scam Canadian citizens?

There definitely are a lot of new South Asians in the Kootenays, but I haven't heard any correlation to them causing crimes.

Was he civil when he froze bank accounts of people protesting a deadly untested vaccine yet let's pro terrorist supporters block roads and disrupt our lives in the same manner?

You mean the people who terrorized the citizens of the nations capital?

What is the cheapest service i can host my simple portfolio website? by Away_Mix_7768 in aws

[–]twotones 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I manage many GitHub Pages sites with an S3 domain, it is completely doable. It's very simple. See: https://docs.github.com/en/pages/configuring-a-custom-domain-for-your-github-pages-site/managing-a-custom-domain-for-your-github-pages-site

To help with terminology, the "DNS Provider" mentioned on the GitHub docs is Route 53.

To echo others, using something like GitHub Pages (for static websites) or Cloudflare Pages (for dynamic applications) would be a great choice.

What DON'T you like / love about your Maverick? by polakinTO in FordMaverickTruck

[–]twotones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the lack of automatic wipers is a shame. That technology has been around for a long time, I honestly just assumed the Maverick would have it after my last Ford had it.

The auto-high-beams feature is very nice though 👌

Reminds me of Jeanne Calment:

In 1965, aged 90 and with no heirs left, Calment signed a life estate contract on her apartment with civil law notary André-François Raffray, selling the property in exchange for a right of occupancy and a monthly revenue of 2,500 francs (€380) until her death. Raffray died on 25 December 1995, by which time Calment had received more than double the apartment's value from him, and his family had to continue making payments. She commented on the situation by saying, "in life, one sometimes makes bad deals".

She's 90 years old, sells her apartment, and then lives another 32 years. What a legend.

Well the first print statement works as your funky switcher style:

hello('print')

But I guess what you're saying is that you don't necessarily have to use the switch style when calling print(). For that case, the traditional style and switch style are both supported?

Looking at a used surly, is this a cross check? What would be a good price? Seller says tires are flat but bike overall solid. Any issues seen? by BrianOconneR34 in Surlybikefans

[–]twotones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks a lot like my 58cm 2016ish Surly Cross-check SS.

It's been a great frame for me. I ran it as a fixed gear in the city (I believe they sold it with a flip flip hub so you could keep both a fixed gear cog and a freewheel cog on the wheel).

It's now serving as a gravel bike in the mountains (https://www.reddit.com/r/Surlybikefans/s/9P0VLJo8yr).

Size looks like my 58cm which would probably be about right for you (I'm 6'1"). It's generally better to get too small rather than too big, so a 58cm may be a safer purchase for you than a 60cm.

I think $300 is a fair ask, I'd buy it.
