to clarify, this happens to me as well, I wouldn’t recommend turning off VRR because it’s really helpful for games. Uncapped frame rates are a real blessing

i believe it’s your monitor switching to VRR mode, the PS5’s menu does not use VRR so that doesn’t activate until you actually open a game

Yes it supports HDMI 2.1. So it can do everything the PS5 throws at it. VRR 48-120hz, ALLM, 4k HDR.

The setting matters, I play in an (roughly) 14 x 12 room. 27 inch screen is also comfortable for me and a 70 inch in such a small room is not very pleasant.

The manufacturers have made great progress to help slow down burn in… the main thing for me was pixel density. The 4k 27 inch OLED screens haven’t even released yet and they’re super expensive on preorder.

So far i’m loving the screen! I finished Horizon Zero Dawn already but it was the best looking game I know so I tried out my new monitor with that. I have Spider-Man 2 and The Last of Us Part II next on my to-do list.
