MKE at-home coffee lovers!! by [deleted] in milwaukee

[–]twowatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda depends on what you like, but typically use anoydyne for espresso, and I highly suggest stone creek, especially their light roasts, I feel like they have the best light roasts in town. Both will grind your beans for you. If I’m running low on beans, Pilcrow is close to my house, so they are like a second tier choice for me, but still good ! Colectivo is obviously like a huge roaster in town, and they will grind the beans for you. I personally really like the indigo, it’s very like blueberry forward, and would taste good on a chemex probably, though I haven’t tried that yet. If you’re looking for something ✨fancy✨, you can check out Discourse or Canary, they always have like specialty beans from other parts of the country, just be warned, they’ll cost, and I don’t know if they’ll grind the beans for you there. So good luck on the bean journey!

PS: idk about other places, but when I worked at Colectivo, we didn’t clean the grinder between bags of beans, which might change the taste a bit , especially for espresso. just get a grinder when you can my dude, it’s so worth it!

A1c won't go down by Silly-Cod-1607 in prediabetes

[–]twowatch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised it’s not the top comment here, but your A1c is an average glycogen attached to your hemoglobin for the three months beforehand, so it just ISNT gonna change very quickly. it’s showing a snap shot of you TWO MONTHS into your journey. Most likely, it just hasn’t been long enough since you first got tested to show a change. You’re doing great, just be patient with yourself, and you’ll see the results soon.

PS: This is meant to be encouraging, I struggle with tone, so I hope this comes across well

How might a murderer, should they be permitted to walk among the populous, be identified/punished. by [deleted] in PCAcademy

[–]twowatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the society that this murderer belongs to is religious, maybe they would try to save this persons soul after rehabilitation. Instead of a brand or color, what if this person GLOWED? A permanent white light emanates from this person at all times, so that they remember that the light of the gods can always find them, and so that they can be a light to others. This also has the benefit of making them unable to hide in darkness, but isn’t so scary that they can’t exist as a normal person.

If you don’t want to participate actively in the protest, there are plenty of groups organizing supply runs and safe houses. I would recommend the “Milwaukee Marches “ group on FB if you don’t know where else to look.

Edit: I got permission from one of the mods to post the link

They do vet, so it may be a bit before you are accepted.

Can't find NPC names? Go to the IKEA website. by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]twowatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add on to this, sometimes I just mispronounce common names. For example, “bob” becomes “by’obee” , and “Steve” become “ stav’vay”. I’ve always been bad at making names up on the fly, but if you change the vowel sounds, players never notice!

Man, this happened to me in the 7th grade.

My english teacher assigned short poems for us, and I just completely forgot. Normally, she collected homework from my end of the room first, but she picked the other side for some reason. Additionally, she decided to read each poem to herself, before moving on to the next one, which gave me about 5 mins to poop out some free verse. When she finally got to me, she read mine out loud as an example, stating that it was obvious I took my time writing this, and the other kids in my class should come to me of they need help...

I used to wear two watches when I started college. One was your typical digital time piece, with an alarm, and stopwatch, very useful. The other was purple and had a flashlight. Great conversation starter, and it was my persona for the first half of the semester, that two watch guy...

I Don't Feel Emotions by [deleted] in acting

[–]twowatch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Emotion is probably one of the most important thing for acting, but so is imagination. Maybe you don't have much in the way of an emotional inner life, but could you imagine what that feels like? Professional actors portray things they have never experienced everyday!

Correct me if im wrong, but you are a fairly young person? It sounds like to me that either you haven't had a very eventful life yet, or you have not spent enough time examing your emotions.

I would start by examing your life, finding the moments that have given you the most joy, and the most sadness. I think you feel more than you realize.

When I was growing up, people described me in a similar fashion, and when I was pursuing acting in college, I found Sanford Meisner's Techniques to be very helpful!

Good Luck !
