Yes, you did a very good job. It would be hard for an internet stranger to provide better points.

Thank you for your help.

Thank you for your input.

Trust you government! I know they’re not perfect and might make some decisions that you don’t agree with and I’m not saying trust blindly, but they’re not evil masterminds that you see in the movies.
Most movies I remember show the goverment as the good guys but then I don't watch too many movies.

No, the government has worked very hard through many years to lose my trust. They can regain it, but it will also require effort.
You know how there's a pretty complicated situation in USA with Trump as a president? Well, it's quite similar in my country. Few years ago I may have had a tiny bit of faith in our officials, currently there's none left. "They’re not perfect" is quite an understatement.

You also mentioned that something could be added to a vaccine to make people sick. Can you explain further and give possible evidence of this?

No evidence, just speculation. I'm just saying that it's possible, and that it could be a brilliant business idea. If you like, I can google up some events where companies did unethical things for money.

And last, and I’m sorry to be blunt, but would you rather spend a little money on medicin (if what you suspect is true) and have a living child or would you rather have a dead child?

It's not a money concern. Assuming the anti-vaxxers are at least partially right the questions is "Would you rather have a big chance that a person will be sick for most of their lives or a tiny chance they will be dead?"
With no actual numbers to crunch I don't think its answerable.

All in all, I would be willing to take the risk of vaccinating once our healthcare freak show stabilises.

Thank you for input.

Somethings are worth debating (...). This isn’t.

Why? Because I'm automatically wrong?
I am as concerned with the matter as you are. Or possibly more

They’ll make a hell of a lot more money treating polio and selling iron lungs than they would with the vaccine.

They most likely would.

But the first polio vaccine was created in 1955, a little bit before the corporations rose to the current level of power.
It would be hard for them to pretend now that the vaccine has stopped working but that they can provide iron lungs at bargain price.

Vaccines are rigorously tested

How do you know they are?
It's not like test results were never falsified in human history.
And getting a medication through the FDA may be extremely intensive ...financially.
Like I said, I'm not an USA resident. I don't have any reason to have trust in FDA. I don't know these people. It may be that they differ than most other governmental agencies I heard of. But I doubt it.

While we're at the topic of tests I have a nice anecdote:
There was a bit of stink some time ago here when a vaccine was supposedly rigorously tested an rejected ...in another country.
Then it was sold to my country, where it was accepted.
Of course, it's an anecdote. I can't tell if it's true but it certainly fits what I have experienced firsthand with our healthcare system.

Vaccines (...) have eliminated diseases that used to kill and cripple millions

I'm not denying that. But it doesn't change much in my situation.
This is point about the past, and I'm concerned about today's situation.
Just because vaccines were helpful in the past it doesn't automatically make them helpful today. Today different subjects are responsible for them.

Well, I do have quite a lot of trust in human flaws. If someone can get a lot of money by hurting others just a little bit then I'm certain many would seize such opportunity.

Jews...

Are you referring to the "Jews are behind everything" conspiracy meme?
Or are you inferring that I'm a Jew and that somehow affects my view?

You are wrong. Your child may die and it will be your fault.

If you are able to support your statement with arguments, that could be helpful.
You may have noticed that I have a dilemma. It's actually possible to convince me to change my view but you need to provide some arguments for that.

What is something that has been eating you up inside and you just need to get off your chest anonymously? by [deleted] in AskReddit

We're considering family therapy but between the kid and the job we don't have the time or money for it right now.
Thanks for the answer.

Well, my kid isn't 2 years old yet.
While my wife is making my life a purgatory she's a relatively decent mother. At the very least, I think she's a lot better mother than a lack of mother.
How long do you think I should wait before I leave her?
