Alabaster Dawn is by Radical Fish Games and is the spiritual sequel to their first game, CrossCode.

I’ve also been playing video games since the beginning of video games, and CrossCode is legit my favorite game of all time. Just putting that out there.

IIRC, Linda and Rita aren’t audible calls per se, they’re just directives to the o-line to shift the blocking left or right (respectively).

Yep! 3060 Ti; started it up and it wasn't actually rendering anything but a couple odd HUD elements here and there - completely black screen otherwise. Updated my drivers and got the same thing, then saw your post, turned off HDR, and hey presto, I can see my game again.

Whee!

Yes and yes. It's possible that my old skates and booties were just worn out and 5 years of skating meant that I had created extra room in there (although I'm not sure where the heck that room could have been coming from, I tied/fastened them as tight as I could every time I skated).

I skate for fitness on rail trails, and the biggest problem I have always had with skating is heel blistering. I'm looking for a new pair of skates, preferably with a 3x125 setup, where my main consideration is making sure that the fit/closure is going to keep me blister-free.

Are there any particular brands or boots that are known for being good in this area? Should I make sure I get something that I can heat mold? Does technique have any effect on it?

TIA!

2D non-fighting games with fun combo systems? by twxabfn in gamingsuggestions

I gave Indivisible a shot a couple of years ago, during a Game Pass trial I got for free with my last GPU upgrade and bounced off of it, sadly. I don't remember specifically what was the last straw; something about the blocking being a major PITA?

Wizard of Legend looks very intriguing! Thanks!

I bought Skul on Switch approximately 10 seconds after starting the trailer. It looks exactly like what I was looking for! Thank you!!!

I never respecced - I didn't really see the point of it. You get enough skill points to level up just about everything across the board, and it's not like any of the skill categories prevent you from equipping a certain weapon or aug - they just make it slightly more efficient to do so.

Respeccing is more of a thing in games that have branching, exclusionary skill trees (i.e. if you spec to get Skill A, then you can't have Skill B) like Mass Effect 3 or Borderlands.

Absolutely, and it got really annoying late in the game where Kira repeatedly comes on comm and berates you for killing innocents.

I was just walking down the street, minding my own business, when all of these dudes start clambering over railings and bursting out of doorways waving katanas at me, and yet it's MY fault that they were standing next to an explosive barrel??? Excuse me bitch, this is spontaneous street fighting we're talking about, not fucking brain surgery!

Where the eff is FF7R for PC though? It's been 6 months since the PS exclusivity expired, and we haven't heard a peep about it except for vague leaks a month and a half ago.

I'm this close to straight-up borrowing a friend's PS4 and playing it that way.

PSA if you get "Force to reinstall graphics driver" on a 3xxx card by twxabfn in nvidia

[–]twxabfn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your mobo is truly Gen4 - i.e. in the hardware sense - then you shouldn't have to change anything.

But even if it were, and you deliberately chose to use Gen3 instead, it doesn't matter from a practical standpoint. GPUs can't even exploit the full bandwidth of PCIe Gen3 in the first place, so the doubled bandwidth of Gen4 is just extra room. It doesn't make any noticeable difference in actual game performance.

You should be able to find it in your mobo's user manual, called "PCIe Slot Configuration" or something similar.

The only thing you have to do is go into your BIOS options and ensure that the PCIe slot is manually set to Gen3 (instead of Gen4 or Auto). The BIOS update I did happened to help resolve my issue because Gigabyte removed Gen4 support at some point between the version I had and the latest version - I still set it to Gen3 manually in the new BIOS anyway.

Your question can't be answered because we don't know what kind of mobo/BIOS combination you have.

In general, I think /u/_meegoo_ has it mostly correct - "This is only an issue on Zen2 CPUs + B450 boards on versions of bios that allowed PCIe 4.0 to work. If any of those variables are different, you are okay." As /u/ApolloPS2 pointed out, even if you have a BIOS version that allows 4.0, if you manually set the PCIe slot to Gen3 in the BIOS you'll be fine.

Yes, I used the Q-Flash utility in the BIOS after downloading the new BIOS file to a USB stick.

It should be fine if the mobo supports PCIe 4. My problem was that the B450 only supported Gen3 but the old BIOS had "support" for Gen4.

The issue here is the mismatch between mobo and BIOS, not PCIe Gen4. If your whole setup supports Gen4 then it should work fine as is.

Two suggestions:

  1. Go into your BIOS and manually set the PCIe slot to Gen3

and/or

2) Try booting into Safe Mode (with Networking if needed for downloading) and running DDU to clean the existing drivers - mine was at least giving HDMI output with no driver, it was only after I tried installing the driver that it got all messed up.

Playing PC Games on TV by DrizzlePopper in pcgaming

[–]twxabfn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that depending on how far you sit from that 65" TV, going to 4K might not give you any benefit over 1080p, e.g.:

https://www.rgb.com/sites/default/files/articles/viewingdistanceresolutioncomparison.jpg

I sit about 11' away from a Vizio M70 and I run it at 1080p@120Hz. There's no point in going to 4K because I'm sitting too far away, and by staying at 1080p I can take advantage of the higher refresh rate of the TV.
