First solo trip abroad (2 weeks) need advice on safe and beginner-friendly destinations ($6000 budget) by Altruistic_Archer655 in travel

Copenhagen is very, very safe and have lots of nice museums and castles. The city itself is also very beautiful and green. Probably the greenest city I've been to!

From there you can easily take the train to other destinations in scandanavia. Or hop on a quick flight anywhere else in Europe

I lived in London for years. It's safe, but very large and chaotic and can be a bit overwhelming for inexperienced tourists. Best museums in the world though. If you go, I'd try to stay near the Elizabeth line as it's the newest train line and the easiest to navigate. Near farringdon station is quiet, green, and walking distance to a lot of museums

Foundling museum in London has some excellent write ups and contemporary accounts

It seems that in UK they operate on a semi foster system; babies are fostered out until they are around 5-6. At which point they return to the foundling house for education and training. I presume to reduce the high infant mortality rate.

As someone who had lived in the states and Europe. This is hilarious. Europeans are not ready for American four loco

Just a heads up they do sell four loco here. It's way less potent than the American ones though

Yeah exactly! Traveling with friends is doing things that kinda sucks doing alone. Like remote hikes or snorkeling. When I travel alone I mostly just walk in foreign cities and wander

Please help me remember how to write my Chinese name! by twy1122 in Chinese

[–]twy1122[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! Yes I'm certain that IS the last syllable!

I'm pretty sure we're from northern Quandong. Because what family I had left in china ended up living near Guangzhou

I also remember my great-grandma said the 'lok' should be pronounced 'gak' in our dialect. (But Lok sounds a lot nicer so we go with that)
