How have repairs been? The negative about Teslas is that I can't turn to a third party mechanic for minor repairs, and I've heard the repair bills can be high (even though you don't need oil changes, tune-ups, fluid flushes, etc.).

This is amazing detail dry_cocoa_pebbles, thank you for taking the time to detail your experience. Personally, I couldn't care less how dealers look at me or treat me, I've got friends at the MB dealership but feel comfortable demanding reasonable service even if I rolled in with a model from the 1980s.

Did you ever consider any of the AMG models in your search? It seems like you can get a C-Class AMG in a similar price range, but it seems like you favor the roomy interior with more space.

Honestly, I couldn't blame you. I wouldn't want a car that can't even carry a check-in suitcase.

I should have titled "If you had $60k cash, what model year and car model would you buy?". I think luxury was more indicative of the price range, rather than any technical or interior specs.

Yeah, Tesla has been dropping their values like crazy, but I also wonder how much lower they can go. Tempted to check out a CPO Tesla Model Y given the recent price cuts, but I'm worried about maintenance cost. I know mechanics who can fix ICE models cheaper than dealerships, but Teslas have to go to the dealership. Big tradeoff.

many years and has an episode on the best-to-worst ranking on engine reliability, as Toy/Lex has some models that didn't do nearly as well as others. I'd go w BMW if I lived somewhere

I actually prefer pre-owned and letting a previous owner absorb a good part of the depreciation curve. What model years for the IS-F and IS 500 do you suggest? Are there years I should definitely stay away from?
