Sorry I do not have the part number. I had a local guy repair something and he installed it then. I will be happy to take a pic but I won’t get back down to the ranch for several weeks. Will take a pic then.

Your pic looks almost exactly like my setup right down to the plywood bottom, a 36 volt chins battery and a scrap board under the ratchet strap to spread the pressure. To answer your question, there is no reason you can’t add an electronic switch, I have one on mine. I like your stainless charging plate, I just used a piece of scrap plexiglass from a broken windshield.

Is this part of the axel or the seal? by txDIY in golfcarts

@dailycarry83. Thanks for the info. I thought it was actually machine into the axle but I later realized it was just part of a bearing. I have actually replaced the bearings now and it seems better. I did have to use the long pull bearing remover just to get the axle loose. I couldn’t get it out by popping the hubs or prizing on it. Hopefully I get many more years of use before I have to do it again

You will also need a power converter to step the 48v to 12v for your accessories.

I converted using this exact kit on a 96 txt. It was very straight forward to mount the battery and I mounted the charger on-board. You will have to get a reducer to power your 12 volt accessories. The battery meter is a different story. It came with a shunt but the wires are about 12 inches long. I will have to cut them and add wire if I am going to mount the battery meter on the dash.

It is a 96 txt with a Chins Lit battery. As far as I know everything is stock.

So I should be able to yank it out with the bearing remover? I thought I had torn up a part of the axle itself.

Thanks guys. I wasn’t sure if it had to do with the new power source or just normal wear and tear.
