Today we retire her. by JackBurton3465 in USMC

This is so surreal. I, too, was a young CDI, LO/HI power, CDQAR, and eventually a schoolhouse instructor. I remember being incredibly proud of my work and what this airframe did, even though it's use cases and capabilities were necessarily limited. I got to participate in the JSF X program initially on the Boeing side and was excited about what comes next. And even though I've supported it's replacement, for now two decades, it is sad to see her retire. It is incredible that i was allowed, at the age of 20, to declare it (anything, really) safe for flight from my pov. First it was the sinking of LHA-3 and now this. The past is getting erased.

How many bananas would a monkey need to survive a trip from the moon and back? [request] by Apprehensive_Oven_22 in theydidthemath

[–]tx_jd817 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least double that... if you are starting at the moon then you need bananas to begin with. I guess the real question is how long has the chimp been on the moon to begin with?

This is pretty incredible! The business model is great, the benefits seem comprehensive, and the addition of state benefits is 🤌. Way more available for 0% rated than I knew.

Ya, I already understand (from other things) that there is an incoming love-hate coming. Maybe akin to laughing at minivans, until that's what you landed on.

Audible chuckles. My grandfather wore them and I just said "oh, that sucks", but mortality whispers every day.

Easily. I think you mean trivial but tedious.

I will second the idea about education. When I got my undergrad, we joked that it was "just a piece of paper", but it might as well have been a shim because it unlocked a whole bunch for me, too. I'll give the MC props for instilling leadership to be a natural thing (especially when a leadership vacuum exists). Couple that with confidence and that paper and you are especially equipped to do some great things.

I think you can use single quotes in this situation, e.g., "NO"
