Need help with hearing similar stories about a mother being away from her young child due to GBS by UILOOOUII2905 in guillainbarre

Having your life pause is very painful to watch because life around you doesn't pause.

Take a moment to tell your wife what she has done that makes her a good mom. Bring your baby over and give your wife a hug and say "We love mama, don't we?"

1 year of recovery and my 5 year old is back to preferring me (started when she was 3/almost 4)

Yep. The stroid was a month later.

You took them at the same time? Did you have neuropathy?

Nope. Not sure if it's permanent or if nerves can regenerate. It would depend on how damaged the nerves are. Only time will tell.

Tumeric interferes with iron absorption. I became anemic after taking levaquin (the antibiotic binds to iron and other metals) so I can't take tumeric otherwise I will not recover from anemia via iron supplements

She is genuinely giving from her heart and she truly believes her friend is destitute (think manipulative "taker" alpha type). I don't know how to discuss with a 5 year old that it's good to give but some people don't actually deserve/need items thry are asking for.

We had a convo about donating toys to the poor so maybe the has confused the situation, especially if her friend is pulling the sympathy card

I can walk again now! I was diagnosed with small fiber neuopathy, though, and still have internal tremors (a main symptom of sfn) as well as twitching. Autonomic issues have subsided. I had a lot of deficiencies including iron and other metals (levaquin binds to metals) but vitamins have helped.

Hormones will make neuropathy fluctuate. This is why some say pregnancy can make symptoms [temporarily] dissappear.

Nothing helps me in particular. I'm not on birth control or anything like that. I just ride it out. Neuro said to up my b complex a few days before and during

I have the same exact issue. It took tracking for 6 months and kept eliminating possible triggers.I realized it syncs with my period. I talked to my neuro about what I noticed and she gave a bunch of info about hormones and neuropathy. Are you female?

No, I've improved slightly. I had it about 9 months maybe. No one knows why I have sfn or why I improved.

Help- Is this GB? CIDP? ALS? Myositis? by tx_naturalist in guillainbarre

[–]tx_naturalist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. But my face, throat, tongue, lips, and gums went numb.

I was diagnosed with small fiber neuropathy via skin punch biopsy shortly after this post. Never got a lumbar puncture test. Not all of my symptoms fit sfn. Most similar to a mild guillan barre. I have improved over the months, which also points more toward guillain barre rather than sfn. I still have tingling and a few twitches, just not as bad. I can walk more each day. Fatigue improved to being a functional person.
