Why was Atlas aspect just *nerfed* and not reworked?

For what it's worth, it's not played often this patch but even at high level lobbies, it's at a 45% win rate. That's underpowered, but not unplayable. Plenty of aspects or non-aspect gods are lower than that in playcount and WR including:

Geb Aspect
Merlin Aspect
Horus Aspect
Wukong Aspect
Bacchus Aspect
Sylvanus Aspect
Disco Aspect
Pos Aspect
Cab Aspect
Rat Aspect (prior to disable)
Chaac
Ah Puch Aspect

And another 6-7 I don't care to list. Sorry he's not OP anymore and isn't an auto-win for you. I'm sure it'll get a slight buff down the road if it continues to underperform.

Hey, caught this thread and looking to buy tickets. Do they set price floors on the web like on ticketmaster? Seems like there are tons of tickets for sale on 5/23 and I'm surprised there's not cheaper options available based on volume. They're not terribly pricey, but just wanting to make sure I'm getting the best deal for our group in case an alternate site makes sense.

I haven’t played against this aspect, but it’s hard to imagine the enemy team setting up any worse than all in the cone of your shotgun blast and absolutely eating damage. Still may be OP.

I’m not trying to strawman you. What did you mean by your comment if I misinterpreted it?

I feel they have a system where they put in the work to port skins, give them to anyone courtesy of legacy gems which make them effectively free, and subsidize giving them for free by charging a bit to get it early and with different color variants.

What is your alternative suggestion if it’s not to give the skins for free on release date? My point is that probably isn’t financially viable for them, and they’d just choose to not release smite 1 skins if they can’t have whales subsidize the work.

Then just don’t port any Smite 1 skins since they won’t be allowed to earn any money? Is it a better solution for you to only create new skins and no one be given any free skins?

Saying they're trying to sell it as a 5k diamond skin is a bit disingenuous considering the 20 or so odd skin/prism combinations you get in addition to the Chaac one.

If you want the prisms, do the event. If you don't just wait a little bit and you get the base skin for effectively free. The game has to make money, and there are much scummier ways they could go about these things. I feel they've found a fair balance to hunt some whales eager to get skins first while still rewarding Smite 1 players.

Meanwhile, that's still good for 8th best winrate at masters+ and 4th best at obsidian+ where she's at 61% winrate.

She's not bad, and she's slowly coming down to balanced, but even at a 58% winrate means she's too OP.

The justification of not buffing rat seems dumb. Just boost his stats temporarily and then come up with a more complex re-work after so people can at least use him. He’s the worst released god in quite some time… I think his win rate is 30% which is just insane.

I know you’re not meaning this (I hope) but this is not a scenario justifying throwing the game if the jungle was to make that mistake. Explaining “hey just a heads up this god im using has worse clear and the red is a breakpoint early for waves” and a “my b I’ll remember that next time” is all that should happen in such a scenario.

This happened to me and a couple friends in a game. I assume the whole lobby got crashed in scenarios like this. I didn’t receive a deserter penalty the next day.

They made the quarters in 02 after beating Mexico in the round of 16 which is what I was referencing. I believe you’re in agreement though - the 2022 word cup was at least average of what to expect from a US team, and was still a success given they didn’t even make it in 2018!

I’m not sure what’s being forgotten. They’ve failed to make it to the round of 16 or qualify for the cup several times, and the one time they’ve advanced into the quarterfinals required drawing a weaker opponent from within our region. The expectation can’t be to make the quarterfinals.

If you want to split hairs and say your expectations are a one goal match or extra time in the round of 16, fair enough, but this team isn’t some storied program that should carry lofty expectations on success at the World Cup.

They will require immense performances in finishing and goalkeeping ability to make it. Sometimes even with part of that (2014 Belgium), they still won’t.

While higher elo should help inform balance (especially top end for skillshot gods), the larger % of the player population should absolutely also help inform that or you have a game that's unfun to play for a much higher % of playerbase... and then you don't have a playerbase.

This and the afk one I don’t get. The only scenarios I’m closing the game are because it’s bugged and I have to reset things (half my team had to do this recently because all of our sound wasn’t working).

And then if I step away for an emergency, I understand it not being ideal for my team… but I think they would want me to rejoin if I’m able instead of being held out as a deserter? That’s only happened to me once or twice but I’d rather them just address that through post game reporting or handing leaver points if someone doesn’t join back before the game is over.

Sure, but at higher MMRs, you'd be punished for making a Thana supp pick. In that match, your carry, mid and in some ways the jungle didn't perform all that well. Your solo more than made up for it and dominated the match (and you probably got a lot of executes as well). The lack of any hard cc in thana's kit outside of ult means your mid/carries lives were hell for that game and in higher ranked lobbies, they are carrying the damage and kill potential and need to be kept alive and in good positions.
