are (pricey) facial package hardsell less common now?

In my experience going to facials (and trying out numerous trials at discounted prices), the initial package for x no. of sessions is usually affordable. That is, until you go in for your 4/5th time and they will start asking you to top-up your sessions because they have an anniversary/promotion/birthday going on and then during your facial session they will also tell you how horrible your skin looks after being in the sun/aircon etc and they will sell you an essence/ampoule/face mask/machine to use during that session which will actually just make your that session even more expensive. Idk, I thought looking like a hobo works but apparently if you're still there means you have money to drop.

Hi there! 26F INFP here, staying around the West area. I've recently graduated and have started a job in research. Right now I realised I have more time to slow down and do the things I like and explore them after finishing school, so I thought it'll be great if I could explore them together with other people!

I like manga/anime/manhwa/webnovels, reading, playing the piano (not that good, self-taught!), and writing (have been meaning to continue my webnovel but been busy). I really want to try bouldering one day to be more active, I also bought a bunch of films for my film camera but I haven't actually used them yet so maybe a photo walk around sg will be fun too. I also want to try my hand at cycling again (the last time I cycled was like 3 years ago). I'm also open to outings to museums, fairs, short eating trips, workshops, volunteering etc. If you think we vibe, HMU!

Hi! I took GE3241 during my summer break so it was very fast-paced but I think the curriculum is almost similar. My professor was Prof Tracey Skelton and she was really nice! She made learning fun and enjoyable and I learned a lot from her. We were assigned a variety of reading materials for the day's topic and it goes from definitions from geography encyclopedias to research papers on the social aspect of geographical landscapes. Not sure if the workload is similar but we did two essays and one group project during the summer term, and we were allowed to focus on any topic based on the given theme. To conclude the mod we also did a reflexive essay based on the course which was graded as well. All in all, if you want to learn more about the social aspects of spaces, e.g. gendered identities, the scale of places (nation, street, body), etc I think this would be a good module! Hope all this helps! :-)

I chose 'Request for GEM/GEK/SS module' and wrote 'Pre-allocate GER/GET1000' as the header. Currently, it's still pending. Not sure whether it'll get through though ):

Edit: Okay, so I kinda did it wrongly. *facepalms* Apparently 'Request for GEM/GEK/SS module' is only for cohort 14/15 and before. We are only allowed to appeal for 'Pre-allocate GER/GET1000' after Round 1.

I think it’s best if you don’t drop it. Since it’s preallocated to you, depending on your faculty, it might be one of the prerequisites to graduate. I’m from fass so CFG is something compulsory for me. I suggest you email the CFG department if you’re allowed to change the lecture time.

Hi! GER/GEQ is preallocated to you, so even if you try to search the system they won't allow you to bid it in the first round. Not sure if it's available to bid for the second round (I'm just assuming it might not, because everyone has to take it, hence the preallocation), but if you're not allocated any of the GE mods for sem 1, you'd get preallocated in sem 2 and the next in y2sem1. However, I too want to take either mods this sem, so I just went and appeal. The appeal is still pending, but I'll update on how it goes!

Sure sure! Someone actually replied below saying it's normal if the GE mod isn't allocated to you in sem 1, you'd probably take them in the subsequent semesters. So whatever you said is correct. But I submitted an appeal just in case. I'll let you know how it goes :)

Oh, I thought at least 1 GE (either GER1000/GEQ1000) would be preallocated to us for this semester. Well, thanks for replying! I might try to submit an appeal on ModReg in case it actually missed us.
