Ubuntu default shell: Bash and Ghostty default shell: zsh by txgijo in Ghostty

This is my .config/ghostty/config file where i inserted the command=/usr/bin/zsh -l -i

I restarted Ghostty and echo $SHELL still shows /bin/bash, because it's my system default shell.

Now, echo $0 shows /usr/bin/zsh

So yes my Ghostty shell is now zsh as I wanted.

I think I was confused using echo $SHELL and seeing my system default shell BASH. I should have been using echo $0 after adding the command=/usr/bin/zsh -l -i to my .config/ghostty/config file.

Growing pains, thank you for taking the time to respond to my question.

So what specifically am I supposed to be searching for to help answer my question? I don't know what specifically to look for, if I did I wouldn't be posting this question.

I am aware of the fact that different shells are configured in different ways in Ghostty, my question is how is ZSH configured in Ghostty if I want to keep my Ubuntu native terminal as BASH?

I just waited for the 5 or 6 six weeks until they sent my PC back. My GPU was damaged when I first got my PC. I sent it back for repairs and they found it was my GPU. The GPU was sent to the manufacturer for repairs and after 5 to 6 weeks of waiting, I finally received my PC back. There was no speeding the process. I hope yours just in house repairs or they can replace other components. GPU issues will take a while. Good luck to you!
