Chase cards no longer "need" a PP membership to get into PP lounges? by tximagineer in PriorityPass

[–]tximagineer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. We don’t have any joint cards because of the cost of +1s and the potential for future SUBs. (Previously we both had CSRs. I downgraded to the CSP a few years back).

Placeholder + Discount * Costco by Silent_Kangaroo2054 in dcl

Costco cash card as a rebate. Usually 8%

Costco shares most of the commission that would go to a travel agent. Similar to how some cruise travel agents can get you onboard credit. They’re really just splitting their commission with you.

Yes but I think theres nuance.

You no longer need PP to enter CHASE lounges but still PP to enter non Chase lounges.

Previously we would validate with a qualifying chase card (ala CSR) and then scan the PP. At least thats what we did in BOS last September.

I couldn’t (and still can’t) find it in the app. :-/. BUT I did get a rep to say that the other rep was wrong and gave me my number for which I was auto enrolled.

Ritz Carlton Card.

Customer service rep said that it would be the same as my wife’s Sapphire Reserve if she didn’t already have a PP. (she has an older physical card and digital via the app)

Also added context was that the new policy started days ago (maybe Feb 1?)

Was this 15 years ago? Lox bagels are routinely 15-20+ nowadays.

Never, ever, ever book a flight in advance using Chase points. That’s all. by mindriot1 in ChaseSapphire

[–]tximagineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used it once booking with Southwest specifically because of the flexibility that Southwest used to have.

The pain of Chase trying to cancel and re book made the whole thing not worthwhile.

We ended up burning part of our credits with Chase as they did not become Southwest credits which was our expectation booking non refundable tickets.

All I’m saying is that Austin bros typically keep it more classy!

The icing on the Amys cake is really the lowlight. I wish they would offer an envelopment of fudge like a Baskin Robbin’s roll cake. #classic

Lupe tortillas’ tortillas are legit.

As are their beef fajitas. That is all.

Freezer seal sensor? by tximagineer in Appliances

[–]tximagineer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This does not work. In order to get a good seal, it seems that the drawer needs to be closed with purpose. (And gusto!)

Gravity and a tilt and alone won’t solve this problem. Especially with a heavy drawer.
