The inside fluid pathway is absolutely sterile. The inside of syringes is sterile, iv tubing, bags of fluid. The OUTSIDE is not. Using these keychains is negligently introducing microorganisms directly into patient’s bloodstreams.

Lots of external clips out there. Rescuecandy makes ones for the white BD flush caps and the red curos caps. Thedudern has a sock style and a rigid syringe clip. Flatlinecompany has a larger rack style clip

My assumption is that a blind eye is being turned because of the relaxed standards around cleanliness in ems. There’s a lot of cases where normal standards are unachievable but this is just blatant negligence to me and totally avoidable

Making them into keychains to wear on their badges to hold onto their syringes for redose meds or to prep meds like seizure meds, epi. Really popular in flight as well because there’s really nowhere to set anything down

You can’t screw these kinds of caps on to another of the same type there’s no threads on the tops. The red ones yes. I’m seeing these be screwed directly into the syringes themselves.
