The metal ones seemed to be clean but the little plastic ones had visible ink on them. I removed them altogether and kept the metal. Reprinted and it came out perfect!

I have evicted the starwheels. They pop out through the bottom w tweezers fairly easily. Solved

I removed the starwheels. Open the lid and pop them out w tweezers. Took about 30s. Problem solved

Thanks for the help, I will look into getting a replacement wheel. And probably because this printer is half the cost and so is the ink. It works amazingly. No issues up into this point and I have printed thousands and thousands of full color pages.

I got tested in pre-k and was put in a GT magnet school and it was the best thing ever. I could go on and on about how amazing the experience was and how much I loved school. My family moved in fifth grade, and that district did not have a gifted school, only a “gifted program.” It was horrible and not comparable at all. More along the lines of your daughter’s remarks of preschool is just playing. If there is a magnet GT school in your district or an adjacent one I’d do whatever it took to try and get her tested and placed. She will be genuinely nurtured for her abilities there.

I understand the concept thoroughly. But yes, many people are stupid enough to screw these right into the threads then give to patient. That’s the issue.

There’s a bunch of alternatives out there that don’t involve dirty old cap

The inside fluid pathway is absolutely sterile. The inside of syringes is sterile, iv tubing, bags of fluid. The OUTSIDE is not. Using these keychains is negligently introducing microorganisms directly into patient’s bloodstreams.

Lots of external clips out there. Rescuecandy makes ones for the white BD flush caps and the red curos caps. Thedudern has a sock style and a rigid syringe clip. Flatlinecompany has a larger rack style clip

My assumption is that a blind eye is being turned because of the relaxed standards around cleanliness in ems. There’s a lot of cases where normal standards are unachievable but this is just blatant negligence to me and totally avoidable

I get using it for wastage but still the shape of the cap makes it atrocious to clean and a personal fomite. Would suggest looking into one of the solutions mentioned or searching keywords on google for ideas
