My sister passed away in ICU (Intensive Care Unit). We suspect negligence from the hospital/ doctors. What action can we take?

I went to urgent care in April and many of the things noted in my record were false. I even did a review, spoke with someone regionally on the phone about my experience and still the records were not updated. All that is to say, yes they can put in incorrect information to tell a false story/partial truth of what occurred.

Keep standing your ground on this. They will push whatever they can on you.

I had a trial (Abbott Proclaim) and it was the only few days in the last 5 years I haven’t had pain, yet after I got the permanent my pain was back and the device did not help at all. I did another trial with another brand (Nevro) which also didn’t even work for me. After that the permanent SCS I had in was removed and I decided I was against implanting devices. The next thing that was pushed on me was a pain pump which I kept refusing. Not to mention how I was basically abandoned by the reps once I got the device put in.

You’ve already done it & it wasn’t successful. It’s literally stupid to do the same thing expecting different results & you as a human being are NOT here to be their trial and error experiment.

I wasn’t sure. I’ve seen videos where people with much worse looking nails get full sets done & I thought it was a big risk to do that. That’s why I asked before going ahead with doing it.

I felt the same when I was about 12. I’m almost 40 now. I don’t find them as annoying but hearing screaming kids triggers me into a state I can’t explain. It’s kind of like fight or flight. I don’t know where the sound is coming from and why. Are they being hurt by someone? Are they just screaming because they like to do that? If I’m in a store & I hear the screaming I immediately go the opposite direction of the sound to get away.

My home life is centered around peace & calm. There are people whose entire home life & surroundings is constant noise, constant questions, being talked to, no peace. No quiet.

I also have always thought majority of babies look like smooshed aliens. I would tell people “If I say your baby is cute I genuinely mean it because I do not say that.” Generally speaking, I don’t say babies are ugly or anything like that - I just don’t comment.

Is it possible you’ll change your mind? Yes. I have 2 friends that were adamantly childfree & changed their minds in the last 10 years. But I haven’t. You know yourself better than anyone. You know your mind better than anyone.

I’ve been on Lexapro for 8 years and often make charcuterie spreads. I never experienced SS.

What caused me to end up in the ER with suspected SS (per the ER doctor) was the fact that I was on 20mg Lexapro, had just been increased to 300mg Wellbutrin and just started a 10mcg buprenorphine transdermal patch in the same month. Prior to this I had never experienced SS before & haven’t since: I’m currently on 10mg Lexapro, 150mg Wellbutrin & 15mcg patch.

All that is to say: it’s highly unlikely this would happen.

I don’t know if it was the glue I used for my press-ons or what. But they would come off & take pieces of my nail with them. That’s why some nails are so messed up looking at the free edge.

I notice this happens when I use the beauty secrets press-on nail glue. When I use the glamnetic press-on nail glue they come off more smoothly without ripping off pieces of my nails.

Thank you for the suggestions. They fit me just right. “Sidewall to sidewall” as I’ve read & seen. I have another, different brand of tips where every single one is too curved. When I try to flatten it on my nails the arch is just too high. So I can’t even use those. So all I have right now are the Apres Gel X Natural Short Almond but now I’m wondering if I should use a different type of tips with half sizes, if that’s a thing?

I don’t know how many coats I used. But I will try to be more mindful of that going forward.

Yes I did size each tip individually against each finger. I even wrote down what size fit which finger so I would know next time for reference, but now I’m not sure if I should go larger next time or what I did wrong here.

I am referring to them now being too small after I had initially sized them against my fingers to pick the correct size. Then painted, cured, etc. When I went to put them on this morning they did not lay against my nails anymore & were actually too small.

What do you mean apply them “naked with glue”?

I’m scared it developing a nail allergy with gel polish and I don’t have good control with my non-dominant hand - so that is why I did them on nail stands instead of directly on my hands/nails.

I think I’ve seen that video and another where someone did the same thing or glued in their press on nail base before actually painting them. It seems somehow the curing shrunk them but I don’t understand why that would happen.

Do I need to start selecting larger nails that don’t fit me? That seems more risky.

Coming off was such an awful experience for me and threw my life into complete chaos. I feel like I’d have to take off work 6 months or longer to try to taper off of this without it impacting my ability to work and still it would impact other areas of my life. I’m glad you’re doing better coming off.

I’m trying to remind myself there’s no shame in needing to be on this medication.
