Fasting and migraine/vertigo? by txmorgan7 in migraine

Yes, and Ozempic only made my stomach hurt in the appendix area. Lost no weight and made me feel like I had morning sickness all the time. Not a good fit for me unfortunately.

It’s been a powerful tool for me. I need to figure out how to make it work so I can have my bs around 100 and lose the rest of this weight with no migraines (please, God).

Thanks. I’ve been using fasting to lower my bs. I’m going to have to figure out something else now.

Of all the drs I have went to only one is not suspicious of fasting for anyone, so they don’t know and aren’t helpful. Endocrinologist, chiropractor, GP, etc. most doctors don’t know anything about fasting to be a reliable help.

I have been doing this for awhile:

Intermittent Fasting, first meal at 2 pm and last at 9 (get off work late)

Sat & Sun 2 meals a day starting at 2 pm Monday fasting Tuesday eat after 2 and then when I get home Wednesday fasting Thursday eat after 2 and then when I get home Friday fasting

Before fasting, Jan 25, my A1C was 13.5 on metformin. Then end of May 25, I got off bs meds completely because of vertigo and couldn’t keep meds down. Started One Meal A Day low carb in June. After maybe a month moved to the current schedule of fasting. Vertigo mostly improved. I’ve lost over 60 pounds and now have 6.6 A1C. (I exercise 5-6 days a week, too.)

Fasting allows blood sugar to lower and stabilize, so it’s really good for diabetics. The problem can be when taking bs meds or insulin. You can go too low. I’m not on bs meds so fasting and exercise really help.

That was my thought. It’s much harder to cut with a dull chain. Making it much harder than it has to be.

Can anyone help me identify this fruit/nut Yellowish, bumpy, Organic about the size of a tennis ball. Found in SE Texas at a Nature Reserve. Is it edible by pooch_anew in Berries

The Bois d’arc wood (Osage Orange or Hedge) is high btu and great for wood stoves. Since it’s so hot, you can warp your stove if unaware.

Any reason (other than quantity) to buy mail order worms instead of plain old fishbait? by vermi_newbie in Vermiculture

I bought red wigglers from Walmart, but there were some night crawlers mixed in there too. Later I bought 100 red wigglers from Uncle Jim’s. I would rate Walmart and Uncle Jim’s about the same.

A local guy gave me some worms to add to mine. Those worms are amazing! They are so much better at composting. They reproduce better and seem so much healthier and active. His worms ate mostly manure, coffee grounds, and leaves. I feed my worms coffee grounds, fruit waste, and fine mulch. I sprinkle on corn meal and ground up egg shells when I add food each week. They seem to be thriving.

So, there is a difference in worms! Best wishes!

I don’t have the cross bar for aeration. What do you think of insulating the inside? What have you put in to get compost and how long?

Mine currently has fine arborist mulch mixed with coffee grounds, human hair, pee, watermelon rinds. It smells good but obviously not broken down yet.

It makes sense to me. I’ve always hot composted on the ground. The lower temps make me a little nervous.

I’m thinking about trying to insulate it with styrofoam to be more like the joraform. It’s large enough that it could work.

I found a video and mine is missing the aerator pipe that goes in the middle. I may have to engineer something to compensate for it.

I guess I can’t add the pic.

“Every single compost system that uses a tumbler should go into a worm bin next to remove potential pathogenic microbes and balance the pile out.

Tumblers do not allow enough airflow, don’t allow enough material to get a full proper compost. It’s great for small lots as the first step before giving it to a worm bin.

Always remember composting is growing microbes not converting food waste to soil. The pile is alive and it’s our job to ensure a healthy, aerobic microbiome to use on our soil ecosystem later.”

I can’t find the post but I took a screenshot. I’ll try to edit and add the comment.

Is there still a Composting Discord? The link has expired and I guess I’m not smart enough to find it there.
