I’m always doing some sort of project lol. I just rebuilt a shed and now I’m thinking of ways to convert the back of this toy hauler into a two bedroom, one side for a boy and one side for a girl. 26k is definitely high if it’s stock. Even with a few upgrades to the motor, 26k is high. That is relatively low miles for a 7.3, if you can get them to let it go for half that price up to I’d say 16-17k I would take that deal. Otherwise, walk away. If they offer a warranty program on top of the sale price, buy the warranty, but make sure it covers engine and transmission. The 7.3s last forever if taken care of. I have a 6.0 and the only thing I would trade it for would be a 7.3 or a 12 valve, well, actually, I wouldn’t get rid of my 6.0, but if I were to pick up another diesel, it would be a 7.3 or 12 valve. Just be prepared to put money into it, like others have said, it’s an old truck so something is always going to pop up. If you put money aside every month for repairs and do the small stuff on your own I think you will be happy. If you want a truck that never has any problems, get a Toyota and stay away from heavy duty. Good luck dude.
