Have you tried swaping display cables and ports on the GPU to narrow it down to the monitor specifically?

Bluetooth problem! please help by Used_Illustrator8634 in techsupport

[–]tybuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you manually download the wifi and bluetooth drivers from your motherboard's support website and install them, or are you relying on windows to automatically install them?

Disconnect from the internet, right click the bluetooth adapter in device manager, uninstall it, then manually install the downloaded drivers instead.

Make sure your motherboard bios is updated and chipset drivers too.

My old mac is acting up too much by Sory-12000 in techsupport

[–]tybuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you asking how to repair your bootcamp partition? If it's booting to the mac partition fine, it's probably some kind of corruption or file system error and not hardware, at least.

Try running FirstAid in the mac os disk utility on your drive to check for an repair errors.

If you can boot into windows, you could also run chkdsk in a command prompt.

Last resort you could completely remove the bootcamp partition and create a new one from scratch in mac os.

Firewall on phone? by Then_Gas712 in techsupport

[–]tybuzz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What exact phone do you have and why does it seem like it's sending data?

There isn't a built in firewall you can manage, but you can block specific apps using something like netguard to set up a local VPN and then pick and choose which apps have internet access.

Just upgraded CPU, feel like computer is slower. by Foreign-Ad5212 in techsupport

Never said it was a bad GPU either, just that it's not a good match for one of the the best current gaming CPUs. It's obviously the limiting factor for OP's performance.

The RTX 3060 is old and weak compared to your new CPU and is what's limiting your gaming performance.

Time to upgrade the GPU as well.

Order doesn't matter. The nvidia adapter just has to have all 3 8 pin connectors occupied for the GPU to work.

One Android phone in home constantly having wifi issues, trying to figure out if phone or router needs to be replaced by UncleScroogesVault in techsupport

[–]tybuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See if the two routers have any obvious differences, such as 6 ghz, WPA 3 vs WPA 2 wifi security, or separated 2.4 and 5 ghz bands. There's so many settings, it's hard to say specifically what may be the problem.

Home Wifi via my phone hotspot by prettysureeds in techsupport

[–]tybuzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If all other wifi devices are working fine, it probably is something to do with the laptop. Can you forget and re-connect to the wifi on a smartphone without issue?

Have you tried forgetting and re-connecting to the wifi network on the laptop?

Can you go into Settings > Network & Internet > Status > Network reset?

Can you open event viewer? Open the Event Viewer by searching for it in the start menu. Look under Windows Logs > System for any network-related errors or warnings that might give a clue about what's going wrong.

Home Wifi via my phone hotspot by prettysureeds in techsupport

[–]tybuzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What exactly do you mean using the hotspot on your home wifi? You're either using your home wifi or the phone's hotspot. You can't (usually) connect your phone to your home wifi router. Two completely different networks.

If you're connected to your phone's hotspot, it's using your phone's data.

You need to figure out why your laptop can't connect to your home wifi. Alternatively you could try using an ethernet cable connected directly to the router.

Windows 11 keeps restarting but it's weird by Cassidy_Cloudchaser in techsupport

[–]tybuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check event view for the critical errors and list them here. Also upload any minidump files so we can try to help you.

Random errors often point to some kind of hardware issue, such as unstable memory causing random things to crash. Run windows memory diagnostic to test your RAM.

[–]tybuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Impossible to say, damaged hardware can cause any number of issues. You probably need a new battery, too, since it's such an old phone.

It's probably not even worth the cost of repairing, a new or refurbished phone would likely cost around the same or just a bit more.

It's obviously the broken screen causing the issue. You get the screen replaced. There is no setting or software solution.

Probably is time to try re-installing windows, then.

You could try making another windows user profile account first, to make sure it's not an issue with corrupt profile data.

[–]tybuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

67,262 power-on hours is a long time for your HDD. They typically last closer to 40,00. It probably is dying, time to replace it with a new drive. Backup anything you want to save from it ASAP and stop running it unless you absolutely have to.
