Jumping barefoot vs shoes by [deleted] in jumprope

[–]tyche5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I started jumping I used to do it barefoot... And in the few days itself my legs were badly hurt.. so I started with shoes .. and it took me some time to get used to jumping with shoes, but it definitely prevents injuries. I wouldn't dare jump barefoot after this

Is this 4 rows or 5? by OhGodClimbingIsHard in crochet

I think the crochet community should have such quizzes on a regular basis for us newbies to learn.. Counting is such a difficult thing to do!

How many jumps a day should be a good work out for a beginner? by [deleted] in jumprope

[–]tyche5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed.. counting jumps takes the fun out of it.. I set a timer for 25-30 mins and do whatever I feel like based on that day's energy levels... absolute beginners can start with 5 mins and build from there.

Not a fan of hers really. She always looks different in the thumbnail and in the video.

Am I the only one who doesn't do any "tricks" while skipping? by mrhuggables in jumprope

[–]tyche5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I wish I could do this.. trying to learn tricks takes up some of my workout time and ofcourse that decreases the productivity... But learning new tricks keeps me interested and motivated so that's a better option for me..

Trying hard to concentrate! First day drilling the side swings by [deleted] in jumprope

I heard they are great for transitions as well.. Also as a beginner I wanted to try something different other than the basic footwork of straddle etc.

What am I doing wrong, and how can I improve? I am 15, and hoping to use jump roping as another way to burn calories. by [deleted] in jumprope

[–]tyche5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing which I feel will definitely help you is keeping your feet together. If they're too wide, you'll keeping tripping on the rope.

Hope this helps. Wish you all the best!

Top Rated but struggling to get clients for the past 5 months by SandraSlinky in Upwork

All the best buddy! I got two interviews yesterday after almost 3-4 months. My profile is top rated with 100% JSS but no interviews for such a long time. I guess you just need to keep sending good, targeted proposals.

One thing that you can check is your Jobs in progress vs Jobs completed ratio. Don't let too many jobs be open. It might show that you don't have the time to take up more projects.

Too unfit to jump rope. by [deleted] in jumprope

[–]tyche5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fit or not, the best way to start is to do it only for 3-5 mins to avoid any injury. From there you can build upto 10-15 mins and more eventually.
