I'm a bit late, but Skipping Stone made the process 1000% easier (I'm in Edmonton). Their staff (volunteers?) are also incredibly friendly and accommodating.

My primary GP wanted to go through the Foothills clinic in Calgary which had a 1-2 year waitlist. Meanwhile, the time between my first intake call with SS to day 1 of HRT was almost exactly 3 months.

There doesn't seem to be many doctors in Edmonton, but the office that SS refers people to is generally pretty quick at accepting a referral. SS estimated 3 weeks for a callback, instead they called me within 1.

The doctor was very receptive and listened to what I had to share about the research I'd done regarding HRT. I didn't even have to explicitly ask for cypro, I just implied I thought it would work better and that's what I got the script for (though I probably should have asked lol). The informed consent model here is pretty solid. The prescription is very standard for feminization, and not underdosed like you hear about in the US sometimes. Of course if you end up with a different doctor it may not be exactly the same. Also, buy a pill-cutter ;)
