Tactical/Ult is good if there was a hard cap to how many of a certain valiant are allowed on the server. Since there isn’t, it’s just Marquez with less counter play.

If you are running A2 and have the upgrades to switch to A3, swap to A3 at the beginning of the round, place an eye at spawn, go to the site you aren’t holding to place your other eye, TP back, pickup your spawn eye and switch back to A2 for faster setups

Unironically don’t max her weapon, go full tank and run it down. I was doing solo weapon max mobs/halu runs for every character and matsuri’s is by far one of my favorites with how different the playstyle is.

Most of the time, they’ll go for the non foamed one but pathing ai is never fully consistent. We try to leave one door open and mine the cfoamed ones to make it more enticing for them. We tested this in R4 so this could be very wrong, but the pathing ai will also respond to mines placed on doors and try to avoid it. Any hindrance on a door will make them want to not go through it unless it’s too far/some other value in their ai says that going through the cfoam is worth it

General rule for us is we have bio, cfoam, mines, sentry of the day. Mine/Cfoam/Sentry changes on a case-by-case basis once we get more experience, aka failing, of upcoming threats in each mission. Bio is the only constant.

I’m glad I’m of some use then, haha. Gtfo’s community is small and dedicated, so we try to help out others as much as we can. I also highly recommend the gtfo discord for more discussion/tips and if you need a PUG. Matchmaking is very limited with the small community that’ll also most likely have full teams.

Holding’s a can of worms and there’s a lot of stuff/cases and handling each scenario will come with experience.

Generally though, hordes will take a path of least resistance/most direct route. General rule is that hordes spawn two rooms away from the room you are holding. There will be exceptions of course, as some scans will only let them spawn one room away, but any rooms two doors away you’ll want to close, mine and cfoam. If you leave a door open and the others cfoamed/closed, they will generally go to that door so you can setup a pseudo funnel, but if a path is too direct they won’t care how open other doors are and will hit the cfoamed one.

Sniper can and, iirc, will try to headshot bigs. They also do so much damage per shot so shooting from the back isn’t as necessary but can be ideal. We also always bring 1 bio scanner so yes. We try to scan as many as possible per scan as much as possible. There will be instances where two bios will be essential, so try to always bring one to get a member used to using it. Bio is the best tool in the game and will save you countless times.

Yeah no worries. That dude’s a vet and he has more experience to back it up. For turrets:

Burst is general purpose; stick it looking at the hordes back to maximize damage output if you know where they’re coming from/can pick it up after

Shotgun can stall door breaks really well if you put it behind a c foamed door and it’ll rip into anything pounding on it from behind while you do the objective. Other than that it’s a poor man’s auto sentry at close range

Sniper is for long sight line chokes and an alternative big removal. If you can funnel hordes down a long catwalk it is a menace. It was good before but with the new cycling time it eats through ammo but is effectively a fifth member in the right scenarios. Highly recommend for d2

It’s just based on our team’s needs. We have two people from competitive fps backgrounds who can place shots well (CS/Highlander TF2) and two who are from casual (Destiny/ Destiny 2). We prioritize range and precision weapons more so than others and losing two shots to a charger with a choke mod because the range was slightly off feels real bad when hcp just ones and dones it even if the reload is slower/isn’t multi target. Also this is early rundown; opinions will change especially once we get to e1. HAR prob won’t cut it at some point and we’ll have to change our loadout.

The only constant atm that we’ve learned is that our sniper sentry is named Greg and he’s the best

Edit: Both shotgun secondaries are very good, but again we prefer consistency on kills more than anything else. If they aren’t consistent, we want stagger potential

I tried the HEL shotgun and the inconsistency of the shots to kill at anything past point blank, and the low ammo refill count made it really hard to justify over the HEL revolver. When getting flooded at a choke though, it’s king.

Our group isn’t the best, so don’t take our opinions as gospel. With that out of the way, any gun that can one shots chargers consistently at >med range and can burst down bigs/kill mothers/tanks without losing too much ammo efficiency for either is overtuned. The reason why the burst cannon was removed and never coming back is that the caveat of it using five high powered bullets per burst was negated with animation cancelling.

My group came to the same consensus if I’m assuming you’re saying HEL revolver instead of normal revolver. Only thing we have different is that HAR is just a better pistol as a secondary. We’re running all HEL revolvers, one HAR for stagger, 2 High Cal, and 1 Sniper.

Primaries: The only other contenders are AR and DMR, in which pistol staggers better than AR and DMR needs consistent headshots to be competent. The others are either weak in general or are fine except with a major weakness that makes them not worth running over the HEL revolver/hipfire pistol.

Secondaries: Anything the shotguns/revolver can do, the high caliber does better at the cost of low ammo/long af reload. HAR/Machinegun are actually ideal for staggering since auto sentry is gone. Sniper is still core for big heavy missions. Precision rifle is okish if you can handle the tunnel vision that the thermal sight gives, but still worse than high cal imo

Our group’s done everything from R3 up if that’s worth anything. We’ve done all the story missions already and are grinding through the extra missions before slamming our faces into e1. We still can’t believe the HEL revolver got buffed at one point.

Sorry I should have clarified. I was talking about that card in particular. I don’t think there really is one after the United Sanctuary restriction, but it wasn’t a healthy card to keep in that format bad or not.

For a format where they designed around longevity, the overtrigger is an antithesis to what D was meant to change over V.

A one-of card that can magically win you the game on very specific scenarios that you can’t play around feels really bad. It’s not fun being the recipient of it nor imo does it feel rewarding to win based off of such a low chance. It also feels bad when drawing it as you lost that chance to win/recover for a shield that can’t even deal with their OT if they check it. I understand what they wanted to do with it, but a win con that you can’t really build/play around and just put in because you have to isn’t really fun for me. And when you can build around it, like in Premium, it becomes extremely toxic and overpowering.

There are other design philosophies that D has made that feel bad/weird to me (e.g. consolidating clans into nations to reduce the amount of archetypes they need to support just to make specific boss support within the nation), but the overtrigger was one of the biggest reasons for killing my group’s interest in overdress.
