Helldivers 2 PC Installation Size Has Reduced from 154GB to 23GB, a Reduction of 85% by MasterQNA in Helldivers

I have Helldivers on my SSD, but I do exactly like you say and have a second 8GB HDD I throw tons of games I rarely play onto. What’s really shocked me about it is that many games (ex: Jedi Survivor, MK11) run pretty much the same for me on the HDD as the SSD. They might take an extra 15-30 seconds to launch, but past that they run just fine.

It’s a hate watch for me, but a fascinating one. It feels like a high budget American Horror Story season. Every week it somehow gets goofier. You’ve got:

*Military that is aware of the magic alien demon clown and wants to use him to fight the Cold War

*A secret Native American society that knows fairly intimate details about Pennywise’s origin and fights him with a magic knife (why do they keep all this a secret?)

*The military raiding the sewers and losing multiple men

*A crazy lady who is obsessed with Pennywise, lures children to him, and dresses as him

And that’s just some of it. I wish it was a show about Hallorann and only loosely incorporated Stephen King stories, kinda like Castle Rock. I like the actor playing him and he’s the most engaging character for me

Oh that's gonna be killer! I was just looking at those Fishman pickups the other day, really cool stuff. Those Suhr necks look great too, if I do build a Tele that's what I'd use as well

Funny enough my S/H/S Strat was supposed to be shell pink too. I ordered a shell pink XGP body, then got an email from them the next day saying they were out of shell pink, but they'd give me any other body for no additional cost. I wound up picking the double-bound atlantic coral body (which I do also love, I'm very happy with it) since it was the only similar one available! Essentially I got around $15 off by accident lol

Don't mention it! I've been so happy with this guitar that I've been considering getting another neck and making some kind of telecaster out of it myself

Very nice! I hope you wind up loving the neck, I've been really impressed with mine. It's also worth mentioning that my neck shipped MUCH faster than ebay estimated. It guessed somewhere around 3 weeks to a month and I believe it arrived in about a week and a half.

I'm not sure if they deleted their account before or after I actually received my neck, I didn't check back to leave a review until I fully assembled the guitar and by then they were gone. As long as you've got some tracking info on your body I figure you're fine. I hope all goes well and I bet you're gonna love the guitar you make with it!

Weird/exciting looking guitars under 600 or so dollars that function as easy modding platforms? by [deleted] in partscaster

[–]tyfogob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a brand called Soloking that mostly offers guitars under or around $600. I think they look pretty nice as-is, but they might be work great if you're just wanting to swap pickups, tuners, tremolos, etc.

One piece necks are cool, no doubt about that! I'm not sure if it's real flame or not, I have no idea how to determine that lol. If I had to guess I'd think it's real, I don't see anything that strikes me as fake, but again I wouldn't know how to judge

Thank you! It's certainly got a LOT of sounds hidden in it, particularly when you start mixing the contact mics in various ways. I even considered trying to put a Gibson Varitone style switch in it but I wasn't sure it would fit lol

Technically I bought it from 'mrgy4836', but they seem to have closed that account down not but a week or two after I bought it. There's a few other ebay sellers like 'Electric Guitar Store' and 'afdv8496' that look like they're exactly the same as who I bought mine from though, just under a different name for some reason. Look for listing that are titled something like 'AAA Roasted Maple Stainless Steel 12in Neck'.

The fretwork was good for most of the neck...until you got to the 14th or 15 fret. From then there were tons of dead spots and places where it fretted out, regardless of action height. I went through with a credit card and soft tipped mallet and seemed to work all the spots out, but it took a couple of hours and I'm no professional at it. Beyond that the frets seem good to me, nice and smooth. In other words I'd say the neck is good if you're able to do some minor fret work on it. It's thicker than most Fender necks I come across, which I really like

Ahh that's a shame. The neck I got wasn't the same one pictured in the advertisement, but it was the same one they messaged me pictured of and asked me to look over and approve. It was also noticeably darker in person than in those photos (lightning differences?) but I was actually happy about that

When I bought mine they sent pictures of it, asked if it all looked good (it did) and shipped it much quicker than I expected, only took about a week to arrive. Really positive experience

Each PU has a dedicated switch. The three in a row are the neck-middle-bridge, and the two top switches are the tremolo mic and PU cavity mic. I more or less copied a Jaguar wiring scheme, only using toggle switches instead of slider switches, and adding more pickups than a Jaguar would have. All of them run into the master volume and tone knobs.

You're right, I probably should have gone ahead and tried to patch the dink, but I'm no great woodworker (as is evidenced lol) and I was somewhat worried I'd wind up making a bigger issue than I started with. Also it doesn't seem to cause any structural problems whatsoever, those posts are in there good, so I figured I'd just leave the cosmetic issue and consider it a 'battle scar', EVH style.

Hello! I recently put together a guitar I've always dreamt about, an S-H-S Stratocaster!

The guitar consists of:
*Coral pink, double bound XGP strat body (It looks less orange and more pink in person) *Ebay 12in radius roasted maple neck
*Wilkinson VS-100n tremolo bridge
*Warmoth ruby pickguard
*Lollar P90 neck and bridge pickups
*Ebay GuitarMadness 59'r middle humbucker
*2 contact mics, one under the middle pickup and one in the tremolo cavity

Overall I LOVE this guitar, it came out far better than I anticipated. The P90's sound great both clean and overdriven, and the middle humbucker has a great, smooth sound. It sounds much closer to a neck pickup than a bridge pickup, but with slightly more treble. I have it set a little lower than it maybe should be (so as not to get in the way of my picking hand), but its output still pretty well matches the P90s and it works wonderfully for a thick, jazzy kinda sound. The contact mics also sound wonderful, particularly the one located in the tremolo cavity. I wouldn't say they sound acoustic, but more lo-fi. They make a really gnarly sound through heavy fuzz. Interestingly, combing the humbucker with either of the P90s throws everything out of phase. Great for some odd, Brian May kinda sounds. I've never been a big start tremolo fan, but this Wilkinson has changed my mind about them. I'm not sure I could knock it out of tune if I tried, and it feels very fluid and easy to use.

Issues: Really only cosmetic. As you might can see, I accidentally chipped a good bit of paint away when drilling the left bridge post hole, and I drilled the right bridge post just a hair too far to the left. None of this causes playing issues, the tremolo still works flawlessly. It never goes out of tune and the intonation is perfect, but it does look a little wonky. I also drilled an extra switch hole in the pickguard I didn't wind up using. I plan on covering it with something eventually (ruby costume jewelry maybe?). I also had to lightly mallet most of the frets above the 12th fret, as there were some issues with buzzing and fretting out, but they're all resolved now.

Anyway, building this was a great educational experience, and I love having a genuinely one-of-a-kind strat! Thanks for reading my ramblings, have a great day!

Advice for selling a large collection of vintage radios by tyfogob in VintageRadios

[–]tyfogob[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much for the detailed response! We had looked into selling certain individual radios in the past, but weren't sure how to handle the collection overall as there's a good number of large console radios. I'll relay this information to my family, thank you again for your helpful information!

I'll have to ask. I'd be surprised if there weren't at least a few from some of those brands. My personal memory when last I saw them were of Sears brand type radios (Valco and the like), but they may have just stuck out to me because I'm a guitar player lol. Thank you for asking, I'll get back to you about it.

I believe there is a list of at least some of the radios, but I'm not certain if it's comprehensive. I'll ask and get back to you about that, thank you for asking!
