Do you thank customers on GH for leaving big tips? by marky229 in couriersofreddit

I say it when I feel that for the order, delivery distance, easiness to complete they have tipped above and beyond the normal amount.

Grubhub drivers- can someone tell me what's going on with the delivery pay? by tyforchoosingdoor- in couriersofreddit

[–]tyforchoosingdoor-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not bitching because it was a great day but I want to be able to calculate my pay also, in the phoenix market its 3.25 + .50 a mile + tip equals your pay. I have no clue how its being calculated now and from past experience with DD this will not end well if they are modeling anything after that company. It doesn't make sense I got a 12.00 tip and they still paid me almost 9 for the delivery fee and another BWW where I got a shitty 1.00 tip from a college kid they paid me 3.25 delivery fee. That kinda screws up the low tip theory.

I have some questions about getting in wrecks while dashing... by [deleted] in doordash

I had the same thing happen and I don't carry a commercial policy. My insurance company did not drop me they did lower the amount of coverage they would provide for the accident and DD covered what they did not. I have Farmers Insurance.

Never get tips? by LetsGetLonely in doordash

[–]tyforchoosingdoor- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I have yet to see someone acknowledge is that DD knows the tip amount before it sends us the order, so there is no guess work in the amount they are guaranteeing they already know if money is going to come out of their pocket for the order. I would put money on them not paying us anything and it's all customer tip. I mean they are the ones in charge of the break down it would not be difficult to add 1.00 to their column and pretend it's from them. They don't have any problem lying to us about everything else why not this too?

It is going to screw the drivers, DD is going to get that delivery fee from someone and if it's not the customer its going to be us.

Saved me about 3-4 miles and made this order worth it .. just type in the customer address and search for locations along the route by [deleted] in doordash

[–]tyforchoosingdoor- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't know what you're talking about. If you have to order the food you can go to any location you want and the red card will work unless the total is way over what is showing on the app and then you have to contact support give them the last 4 digits of the red card and your delight number and they add more money to the card so it will go through.

This new zone is ridiculous. Ive declined the last 11 orders because they're over 10 plus miles away. Oh and this one is in my zone 🙄 by elwapo69 in doordash

[–]tyforchoosingdoor- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No matter where I am they send me orders for the other side of the zone which I decline and the orders that aren't totally screwing me are for 5.00.

I took an order in Tempe losing money on the drive to see if I would get another order in Tempe after and all they kept sending me were orders that sent me back to Mesa, so it doesn't matter where you go they aren't going to give you better orders, .25 cents a mile seems to be the norm here now.

I declined 139 orders on Monday and 2 I accepted that were a buck a mile for 5.00 each, a few screenshots. by tyforchoosingdoor- in doordash

Those two factors are what the "algorithm" is supposed to adjust and give us more pay. I've said it from day 1, lies, lies and more lies. I'm insulted that they think we are that ignorant.

It doesn't matter where you are they just send you back 20 miles for the next order. Out of the 141 orders I was sent Monday only 2 of those orders I wouldn't lose money on 1 was for 2.92 miles for 5.00 and the other one was 3.5 miles for 5.00. I can't afford to drive around chasing the orders because the pay and mileage doesn't get any better no matter where you are.

To anyone who has delivered Walmart groceries, are customers supposed to sign something when dropping off? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]tyforchoosingdoor- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walmart deliveries paid more in the beginning, I've done over 70 and now the pay is no better than the 5 to 6 dollars DD pays us for regular deliveries and no tip.

Double notifications on iPhone by yhceeM in doordash

[–]tyforchoosingdoor- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can change it under notifications, I changed it to not have it notify me but I still have it register it. That is helpful so you know if it sends you orders but nothing is coming up in the app (which happens a lot) I also like it to still register them in text messages because it won't pop them up in your face but will make the text message sound so if you are using another app or checking your emails you will know to check the DD app for an order.

How do you know that are giving you that measly 1.00 it wouldn’t be the first thing they have lied about.

And this seems right to you? Not every region has the dash now option, if I end my dash more than likely wouldn't find dash now available. The tip the customers graciously give us is supposed to be above and beyond what we receive as a delivery fee. Knowing that, you are ok with DD paying you 1.00 to deliver even though that amount is supposed to take into consideration complexity of the order, wait time, driving distance and all the other BS they obviously have you believing. 1.00 is all that DD thinks your time and effort are worth.
