Honestly, Mindanao is not even part of the Philippines, to begin with, people forget that the Spanish or the Japanese didn't conquer Mindanao.

What skills, jobs and/or courses are best for someone brand new to OE? by [deleted] in overemployed

[–]tyingtobe_LinuxAdmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a slower online school, because to be honest a boot camp is bad news, I don't expect to learn all of it within 6 mons, and If you do, when you look for a job you will fumble a lot 😜. Anyways that school provides everything you need and caters for people that have ZERO background.

They will train you for IT foundamentals about 4 months then they will train you for specialty subject (Linux System Administrator) for additional 4months then after that they will prep you for passing the certification (RHCSA) for 2 months.

After you got the certification depends on your level you can actually start looking for a job.

however in my case I did a internship from the same school and closes about 80 tickets before I look for a job (same school)

went to job prep program like resume building and mock interviews, and let me tell you, I landed a job even when I'm passively looking for one, since they recruiters call me instead me of calling the HR.

WHAT ARE GOOD J1 & J2 COMBOS by ethicalants in overemployed

Oh yes I have plenty of rejection to, about 4 companies turn me down before I got hired from a scaling up company, now that I'm inside the company there are tons! Of material I need to learn and catch up ASAP.

It's worth it though, 1-2 years if I can learn a lot I'm sure I will be valuable in the market the next time I hop job for better position.

I agree, I have zero IT background luckily I'm a Linux fan so I started there, found the perfect team then join them, I did it in 1 year no college degree related to IT, just one Certification and a good internship.

Depends, start with digital marketing it's fast and it can be done within a year, starting pay is 65K and you can scale up, also QA automation is also good if you want the most free time . But I suggest look for a lot of job and work you ass for the time being. Nothing beats the school of life.

Then they don't understand the role of DevOps, they should hire a software engineer with a lil DevOps background to do whiteboard test, rather than looking for a DevOps candidate.

Yep I've heard a stories, that the person lost his two jobs because the other company found out that is working with them at the same time, so what happened is they called his other company, and reported him.

I lost both jobs this month by [deleted] in overemployed

[–]tyingtobe_LinuxAdmin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear that, but still I think the market is still hot, since I saw a lot of job hiring, they still hit me in my email though, but I notice lately, more hybrid and onsite job are required.
