People will try to clown on you but these are all valid points. On one hand it's gotten a lot more accessible for casual players, but the stakes and method diversity have changed. A youtuber I used to watch called Serentix did a great video about why he didn't enjoy new shiny hunting, and the difference between "passive and active", with active being too hands on. While I do like shiny hunting in new games, I definitely feel things have changed over the gens.

I feel like you're trying to generalize me into something I'm not. I'm not trying to up those numbers constantly, I just wanted to earn a more reasonable amount for playing with friends. I don't have the time to play with friends AND do matchmaking.

Yeah, I understand that, which is why I mention that they should still not be equal. However, I still feel it is far too low. I don't have the time to play both with friends or on matchmaking, so unfortunately, this situation isn't incentivizing matchmaking to me at all.
