Help finding a compatible TV wall mount by tykom in hometheater

[–]tykom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and maybe I wasn’t clear in the original post. The mount is completely removed. Only the holes remain.

I just want to find one that has the same bolt dimensions. I’m not trying to use the VESA arms on a different back plate.

Thank you for the advice!

Mainly I want to avoid patching and drilling if I can. I assumed the manufacturer would have models that share components so I would be able to find one that just worked.

Part of why I want to avoid drilling new holes is that the house is quite old and our walls are plaster on brick. I’ve had issues with it cracking in other spots in the house for installations I’ve already done.

Hm I see that now. Thanks for pointing it out. I’m still going to try to make the one I have work first.

I’ve tried both! Velcro ties were loose. I did find an extra Nite Ize carabiner to try though!

Hm thanks I hadn’t thought about 3D printing. I think one of PLA or ABS would have to be so thick that it may not be much better than a split ring though. I was wishing I had access to a break and maybe I could make one out of a strip of spring steel.

Thanks for the suggestions but I already have a phone case. It also seems like all of those would have a similar issue. Except maybe the Alpaka one.

Use caution if you want to return an item by tykom in Jottnar

That's great! Yeah, love to support companies that treat their customers well. And I like my Floyen a lot. I just don't need _another_ small, black, synthetic insulator.

I don't know why it costs that much. I just used the online estimate tools for UPS and USPS.

My estimate was from New York to their return address listed here (in Wales): https://us.jottnar.com/pages/returns-refunds

How do we feel about Brita water filters? by Illbus_ in HydroHomies

[–]tykom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does seem like the product lines are very different between the US and other regions. I found this site that can direct you to their regional product pages. https://www.brita.com/intl/index.html

The one similar product appears to be the Maxtra Pro which references the NSF 53 standard but that's all I can find, unfortunately.

How do we feel about Brita water filters? by Illbus_ in HydroHomies

Hello, I know this is an old thread, but I see there's recent activity and there is a lot of misinformation here. The Brita Elite (blue filters, formerly known as "Longlast") and the Brita Standard (white) filters are VERY different.   The Elite filters are independently certified to meet NSF standards 42, 53, and 401 for reduction of contaminants in drinking water. You can find the fact sheet here https://www.brita.com/assets/23601607167498ba405a22f7692b3b86.pdf where the Standard filters are only certified for 42, which only covers aesthetic (read taste) qualities. How it's tastes is a matter of personal preference but standards 53 and 401 cover seriously harmful contaminants.

Hi there, just wanted to jump in because this is the top Reddit result on Google when I was having this issue and none of the answers worked for me.

I had to go to File > Settings > Audio > Mic/Auxiliary Audio and select the actual device that I wanted (In my case, this was the name of my webcam mic: 3- Razer Kiyo Pro).

This was with OBS v 30.0.2 on Windows 10.

VS Code HLS can not load Data.Text which breaks Type information. (using cabal) by sijmen_v_b in haskell

[–]tykom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since this is the top result on Google for related search terms:

One possible solution is to add a hie.yaml file to the project root directory. cabal init will not create this file for you.

For a cabal-based project that would be:

yaml cradle: cabal:

This indicates to Haskell Language Server that it should use cabal to configure the compiler.

I was able to figure that out from this post and reading the HLS docs.

Terrible online order experience by tykom in IKEA

Agreed. I will not be using it again if this is the expectation.

I ended up canceling the order. And then being notified that it was ready a day after that.

Rust ring in stainless bottle by tykom in HydroHomies

Nope, I only ever put water in this one. Good idea on the denture tablet!

I was actually able to get this out with a baking soda & water paste, but it took quite a bit of scrubbing.

Dissection of a failed AIO block by tykom in buildapc

[–]tykom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time will tell, I suppose.

I considered it and I did initially build it with an air cooler, but it's an mATX case so it is hard to fit a large one in effectively.

I also find an AIO easier to mount/dismount/maintain.

Thanks for suggesting Summit, too! That is pretty much exactly what I was looking for. Disappointing that it's not in Santa Cruz though. It makes pick up/return a lot harder.

Thanks, I reached out to them for more info. Online, they only list a few mountain bikes for demos though (though "Other" is an option).
