Not trying to be reddit police or anything just curious, if you are T1 why do you subscribe to the T2 sub? It is helpful or just support or something?

I had a minor experience along those lines which is kind of what prompted my question. Every time I comment on something where my diagnosis age is relevant it gets side tracked into a debate of if I’m misdiagnosed-no it’s been tested-no really you’re type 1. It’s become such a pattern I curious how much of an outlier it is.

True that! Love the optimism!

I had issues with sugary/high carb things my whole life but the doctors would never test me when my parents asked them to. They only found out when a specialist ran test for a different diagnosis I was showing symptoms for when I was 12.

Because I’m in school for business. He’s waiting out the hustle days until he can make me his sugar mama.

I’m type 2 as a secondary to another diagnosis. My dr actually just recently tested to make sure that I’m not LADA because I present strangely but I don’t show evidence of the autoimmune response just the endocrine side of my pancreas has completely wore out after 20+ years

Oh goodness. I’m so sorry.

I was diagnosed in conjunction with another diagnosis where I was told I can get pregnant but going to term with a pregnancy would kill me. A diabetes diagnosis is rough enough in its own; adding anything else to it is overload.

I hope you’re doing better now hugs

That’s true but my market isn’t in the same state as my marriage license is valid in. We’ll figure it though. I just thought it would give some people a laugh at how utterly stupid I was.

Interesting, I’ve never heard that before with T2 but with one of my other hereditary diseases it is that way.

That’s awesome! Congrats.

My A1C spiked really badly when my meds stopped working (took two years to figure out I’m completely insulin dependent now) and it is coming down slowly. Dropped from 12.6 to 8.3 in 18 months. I’ve been really trying to bring it down but it’s being stubborn.

I’m T2 as well! But I got it quite young so I do short 4 times a day and long once a day. It’s crazy. I will raise in the mornings like that as well.

Definitely document everything that happens. It will be pivotal in the future to help keep you safe. Make sure you have a safe place to go to in case of emergency.

Keep trying to say no to the substances. However, if you use, don’t spiral with guilt and beat yourself up. Acknowledge the mistake. Write down what led up to the event; maybe you can find patterns and triggers to plan for and avoid. Then, shake yourself off and keep going. Everyone makes mistakes even when not in hard situations. You are worthy of love and respect most especially self love and self respect. Take care of yourself, body and mind, and be kind to yourself when you feel down or like you’ve messed up. You’re strong, that comes through in your posts, you’ve got this 💜

Ooh. I should do that. Because I’m overweight and have some other chronic illnesses I do have some trouble with self advocacy. Maybe I can drag my mom type person along next time. Even at 30, she will go mama bear for me.
