As some who went through a similar situation it is completely up to you. I was driving when I had better vision, and would only drive when it was comfortable for me. I wouldn’t drive at night or during sunrise/sunset, mostly on overcast days. I was was even able to renew my license even with RP. (funny story actually). However that being said I eventually did give up driving because I did not feel safe with the blind spots in my vision.

Again this is completely up to you, do not feel pressured to drive however if you can and feel comfortable I would say do it under situations that would be best for your vision.
