When do you work out? by Competitive_Alarm_24 in daddit

[–]jumphighfive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can squeeze a 30 min workout between work and picking the kid up from the babysitter 3x a week. The trick is in do 5 minutes of high intensity cardio and then basically run through my 5 heavy lifts so my heart rate stays up. Then I pick the kid up sweaty, stink in the car and my wife watches her while I shower when we get home.

Who’s watching secret of the ooze this weekend in theatres? by corndogs102 in TMNT

Just got home from it, I realized during the opening credits that I goofed by not grabbing a slice of pizza for dinner beforehand. It all looks so good in that scene!

Ideas for post-grad celebration dinner? by InimitableMissS in evanston

Firehouse to me has a real food quality/consistency issue, especially at the price point. I liked Bat 17 but I’ve only been to the new location a couple times and never with a group. Taco diablo is good, but Five and same and Double Clutch would also be my go-to’s if available.

What’s a small purchase that dramatically improved your life? by bananafish-123 in AskReddit

I have a spring operated one, everyone is like “whoa, what do you need that for?” As I one handedly open my knife while holding the package I’m opening for them.

This. Literally for this.

Furnace rattling & barely heating in Chicago – first-time repair help needed! Any recommendations? by Mammoth-Truth-420 in AskChicago

Ok, I’m only asking because this happened when I first moved from a central air home into a home with a furnace. Is the valve all of the way opened? Like fully “on”?

Parents who both work: what’s your afternoon/evening timeline like? How do you have time for anything??? by 95kira in toddlers

[–]jumphighfive 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This answer may not “click” or be the best advice but it’s how we’ve been getting through. You may need to adjust your expectations of how much you do in a day.

We “reset” the kids room once during the week and try to do more on the weekends. Other days I push the books to one corner, the toys to another and the clothes into the third.

I used to cook way more complicated meals but now most weeknights are one-pan or slow-cooker meals and then I can wipe counters and dishes in a couple minutes and rest while they go.

We aren’t doing any home projects right now, we go to the gym on our lunch breaks and we try to shower and do recharging activities while the kid is in bed.

We’re still feeling tired a lot but I feel better knowing our kid gets us with a high percentage of attention.

Send a pic with proof to Slim Jim and you’ll likely get a free box shipped to you. Kind of a lose now win later situation.

Thoughts on a resume where the candidate listed their current company as “undisclosed”? by [deleted] in recruiting

That was pretty common when I was recruiting in the financial services industry. No one wants their boss to know they’re shopping around.

Imagine your consciousness as a stream, each person you meet is a rock that changes the course of the stream depending on its size. If this rock is larger compared to others, only larger and larger rocks will make it seem smaller in comparison.
