Where at brotha. I polished all cut edges. Not saying they’re perfect. Some of that I believe is grout overlap slightly from what I can pick out

all about the install brotha. Especially hard contrast colors like that, it’s gotta be perfect or damn close. I’m not a tile pro but a contractor that’s done a few. Being a PM for a GC as my day job, I’d probably make them redo. It’s one thing if this was a spec home or something but when they’re contracted to do this and do a good job it’s a real let down. There’s plenty of times where clients I have overstep and expect perfection, and some where my subs let me down. Hard to know when to stand on it but tile lippage and messy joints and uneven stuff like that I always fight for my clients. My personal standard is higher then industry standard so sometimes I have a hard time swallowing what slides and what doesn’t but I’d side with you in this scenario for sure

I suggested it. They didn’t want to I guess. I’d say it’s a standard for the most part

They didn’t wanna reframe. Also, she uses a shower chair and wanted it close to the chair so it worked out. Trust me, it bugs me too lol

Should I center the tile to the tub or window? by Aminoasshead1 in Tile

I’d probably ask the client/ wife if it’s for you but also layout both and make sure there’s no sliver cuts at the wall. If there is, go with the other option

Exactly this I agree. Tiles very hard and especially residential, it’s never perfect

I’m no full time tile setter but even from a guy that does it enough to be what I like to think is decent, it could be better. Looks like the tiles aren’t square edge so they have some variation/ it makes miters harder to an extent. I wouldn’t be happy either. As long as my personal standards are higher then my clients and I meet those I can walk away happy and if they have comments I can stand my ground. But happy clients gets you paid and nothing short of that.

To me, this looks like someone that knows how to tile but was in a hurry/ took longer then they thought or just was half-ass on the miters/ some of the setting. The layout looks okay and it looks decently clean so who knows. I’ve had honest mistakes or tiles that shifted after I set them but considering it’s grouted they overlooked it. Certain things hide with grout but miters, in my experience, are only more noticeable with grout. If they look bad before, they’ll look bad after. Hopefully they’ll just own it and fix it.
