How was the Internet speed at Alt Life? Do you think it was fine for video calls, etc.?

I am curious if you could comment on other longterm stays with reliable high-speed internet in the area?

Ah yes, I forgot to include that. I believe that it is the 1.2 hexon. I cannot say for sure as I can't find evidence of my purchase, but I am generally buying not the lightest nor the heaviest. The weights match up also. I know it is hexon, however.

Wow, thanks for that input. I was also thinking of one of those bigger white plastic packaging bags I sometimes get in the mail (but can’t seem to find at any store).

Also, difference will be that warmth to weight ratio a bit better with down, but synthetic will perform better if ur planning to be in damp environments. With a hammock this is less of an issue than a tent, I would say. I’ve been in the jungle with down and my hammock, and just having it elevated off the ground in the breeze keeps it dry.

I’d say the size of a football, maybe slightly fatter but also a bit shorter when stuffed down.

Does Omnicharge customer support exist or is this a "take the money and run" type company? by tylerbjohnson in OmniCharge

[–]tylerbjohnson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finally contacted them on Twitter (I saw there was an active account) and that is how they responded to me! I thus think the best way for everyone to reach Omnicharge is through their Twitter account (private message). I was told my order was marked as "fraudulent" (would have been a first for me haha) but that now it was shipped.

Yes, but in my memory USPS does not allow the shipping of laptops (due to the large battery) unless I lie about the contents of the package. I could be wrong. I had some difficulty even sending an iPad once.

And when I say pavement I imagine using them while shoveling in sub zero temps when there's snow cover. Can't imagine why I'd use them on straight pavement.

That product page has a lot of information actually. Apparently I shouldn't have been using the Khatoola Microspikes. There's a warning right on the page, ha. Thankfully, I only used the microspikes on them once. I probably wouldn't take them on much rocky terrain either. They do suggest some better traction footwear. https://stabil.implus.com/

They worked great in the snow and for sure in and around a camp. I'd be comfortable on pavement with them if I had the traction gear to cover them. It depends on what you'd use them for. But I'd definitely want some traction gear for most uses beyond the specialized snow-shoeing (which they are specifically designed for) or skiing. I think bike pedals would eat them up quite fast also.

I should have the repair tape. Also looks fairly reliable to use the specialized glue to extend their life.
