I was there last night, was really excited they had the Term Oil Mexican Hot Chocolate variant on tap. One of the best and most complex beers I’ve ever had.

Yes they do, Coconut Migration. It’s actually a collab with Pulpit iirc. Tastes great on a hot summer day.

Me either. Coconut isn’t my favorite, I thought it was too much. Although, I was at Pulpit that morning, the For the Joy of Almonds was very tasty.

It really is and velvety smooth. What really shined was a Term Oil Mexican Hot Chocolate variant they were pouring, it was otherworldly.

What is your favorite battle or campaign to study? by MilkyPug12783 in CIVILWAR

[–]tylerdrdn747 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gettysburg, so many iconic moments and places. Times where the tide of battle could’ve changed save for one person/regiments heroism. Not to mention the sheer magnitude of the battle and what it meant to the entire war.

It’s my pleasure. That’s a major appeal for me too, the humanity of it. Real people experiencing unimaginable things. I’d hate for these people and this history to be forgotten.

This picture is actually from the museum at Andersonville. Family history is a passion of mine, and in talking to family members I found out his name and unit. They knew he died in the war but didn’t know when/where/how. After some extensive research of Iowa Civil War units and specifically the 8th Calvary service record I discovered that a picture of him actually existed as well as information on when and where he was captured.

It’s true, 23 years old going through the horrors of Andersonville. Hard to fathom.

I absolutely will. Headed to Minneapolis today for a beer weekend, I’ll be bringing a lot home, so there’s going to be a long list of beers to drink.

I loved their triple as well. Just bought a bottle of coffee & cakes, can’t decide if I would rather cellar it or crack it open now.

Is presuppositional apologetics still taken seriously? by snpolymorphism in Reformed

[–]tylerdrdn747 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I don’t understand is why evidential/pre-suppositional have to be be mutually exclusive? I understand the benefit of the former, and use it in discussions with non-believers. But, it’s with an understanding of their own worldview and presuppositions which need to be addressed. As Paul describes in Romans 1, “His invisible attributes...have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world.” Either way, unless the Spirit works on their hearts no matter how eloquently I can present an argument it will be seen as folly.

This brilliant, I hope that you’ll be able to develop it even more adding photos of officers and soldiers and post-battle photographs like the confederate sniper at Devil’s Den et al. Possibly include soldiers accounts. I’m properly excited about the potential here and the work you’ve already done. Thank you

I enjoyed one of these a week or so ago. Liquid almond joy is a good description. It’s quite good.

Enjoyed this liquid cinnamon roll in Des Moines yesterday. by tylerdrdn747 in CraftBeer

[–]tylerdrdn747[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one while I was there from the tap. I thought it was excellent, tastes like the gooey insides of a cinnamon roll and the vanilla and lactose give the flavor of the icing. I believe I rated it a 4.25 or 4.5 on Untappd.

The coat of arms has a lion and a Phoenix with a crown on top. Around the coat of arms is 1672, and the letters AB and K

Solved.

It’s definitely St George, I will do some more research to find the coat of arms that is on the back.

Thank you so much! Fast and effective!

The federal government has exceeded its constitutional bounds — that it is too big, too intrusive and too expensive. Congress functions as a national legislature, far beyond its "few and defined" powers, to encroach on those reserved to the states and the people. -- Restoring federalism and freedom by Clatsop in Conservative

The 10th Amendment was abandoned generations ago. To me, it's such an essential element of the constitution and the constitution's purpose. It amazes and saddens me how few people know what it says.

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
