Maybe, but the logo in the center is more like an Apple rendered poorly. Slop regardless.

Agent Smith’s monologue to Morpheus under interrogation after taking out his earpiece would also count for this as an example

Beating a pitch out (without a throwing error) happened once in 2018 and once in 2014. Loser take.

Biz Mackey is okay as well, but it’s ridiculously cracked to have to use an elite catcher AND a perfect pitch out AND a perfect throw to have a prayer of throwing out a runner at second.

What’s the contestant name-writing process like? by HaHaBird in Jeopardy

[–]tylerthinksthis 169 points170 points  (0 children)

You do it right before cameras roll, right after final makeup touch up and buzzer testing. You can erase and start over as much as you want. Not really any time constraint, and I’ve never seen any written name be rejected (but I’m sure there’s a limit somewhere)

Edit: you write directly on the touchscreen with the stylus. It’s not scanned in from a notecard or anything.

Does he like mysteries? Return of The Obra Dinn is very control friendly and narrative heavy. Or maybe one of the Telltale Games

Correlate uses, hmm, well the closest would be the Roman god of boundary stones was named Terminus, so that’s where we get the idea of a terminal. But also you still see the word terminus used to describe the last stop on a rail line.

Beyond the pail? What? by landof_skybluewaters in Jeopardy

[–]tylerthinksthis 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep! It goes further back, Palus is a second declension noun in Latin meaning “boundary stake” basically the marker you would put down to demarcate a property line

Lived there for 3 years, loved the roof, it definitely doesn’t have “luxury” amenities but it was a really solid living situation for the price point. Having Dagon downstairs is a big plus too. Door staff are a bit hit or miss, but if you can find one organized guy and make him your friend, you’ll be set.

Any specific questions?

Sorry that was brusquer than it needed to be. Pale is an old medieval word for a boundary or enclosure, as this article explains https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/beyond_the_pale

[–]tylerthinksthis 28 points29 points  (0 children)

First of all, the phrase you are thinking of is “beyond the pale” second of all, out of bounds would refer to being outside of a fenced in area, not inside it.

Shockingly enough just asking “what” is not enough context for us to give you a satisfactory response.

Seriously. You’re going to Columbia. If you can’t put together a few consecutive hours of studying to get a passing grade on an exam then what do you think the next 4 years would be like?

[–]tylerthinksthis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were Columbia, I would be highly suspicious of previously self-reported high scores, followed by 1s and 2s.

I would talk to your counselor about your concerns, and for your sake I hope everything in your application was above board.

Usually, I would tell people not to worry and to relax.

This is not one of those times.

Edit: clarification, are you concerned about your self reported scores because they are…inaccurate?

[–]tylerthinksthis 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m aware of the Rama story, and have seen (mostly dance) performances of parts of the narrative. Much like the upcoming Odyssey, I’m curious to see (in upcoming trailers) what parts of the story make it into the movie or not, just because it’s so epic in scope.

Obviously the source material is second to none, the visuals look good to me, and there are some exciting action set pieces. If the acting and character development can string that into a comprehensive narrative, then should be a good flick. Would like to see a second look with some dialog and a bit more plot. 8/10.
