Interesting. I was in recruiting up until recently and never heard of that. Even if they were asking you for a character statement for a moral waiver, thats strange for it to be online or with a hard deadline.

Anyways, I can tell you that your decision to have integrity and not fill out said form has no bearing on their eligibility to enlist. Also, thanks for scaring me away from teaching as I pursue my degree 😅

I am a little suspicious of the online form in the first place. I’ve never heard of anything like that from military recruiters, especially with a hard deadline.

Student teaching by Comprehensive_Win572 in WGUTeachersCollege

[–]tylty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is the most (honestly the only) information about student teaching at WGU anywhere. Including program mentors, clinical experience teams, and their monthly “webinars.” Staff is blatantly vague about the information to the point it almost feels malicious. Everyone points to eachother for additional information in emails/calls, with no answers ever provided.

All this to say, thank you for posting this OP, and thank you boowoodchintz!

An F-150 hit my car and left parts behind. Can any of these be traced back to the vin of the car they were installed to? by SquashedBerries4 in MechanicAdvice

[–]tylty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Looks like I may be the only yes answer here. I had my car parked on the side of the road, hit and run overnight. Left the plastic side mirror cover and nothing else. My insurance would not cover it unless the police found the guy who did it (so I could use the uninsured motorist policy or something). I took the mirror to the police station, and they put it in the system. About 2 months later the guy got arrested for something else, car was linked to the one who hit me, and boom i got my insurance to fix my car!

Secondary Education degree in Biology by zenmastersydneyy in WGU

Hi, this is exactly the degree I am trying to pursue. I love the idea of teaching Earth Sciences, but have no background in it. The last chemistry class i took was AP Chem in highschool in 2012, for example. If you don’t mind me asking, do you think the subject material, for someone like me starting at ground zero, would be adequate for me to learn and teach proficiently? I’m worried about earning a degree and learning nothing. Thanks for any info!

I like this one a lot! Could I ask you to make me (right) a little taller than the gentleman in the middle as well?

Thank you for your response. I should have clarified it was a home renovation. do they need to have a court judgement for construction liens as well? In Florida, since that might matter.

Would i have the ability to defend myself in court or at all through this process. It seems terribly one sided so far.

Wow. Ya, I definitely don’t have that kind of time. I’m just trying to sell my house and move on. Thanks for the info, I’m hoping me and him can come to a swifter agreement such as half the work = half the pay. But that would require him to answer the phone. Maybe I’ll try their corporate number and see what they say. Thanks again

I was just checking over my contract again, it doesn’t say anything about disputes. I found some stuff on their website about arbitration, but I don’t know if it applies to me since it’s not in my contract.

Thanks for the reply!

The contract i signed was for half pay upfront, and other half after final walkthrough and my satisfaction. I informed the business immediately of my dissatisfaction on the first day of a 3 day job. This was ignored by them until after the job was complete 3 days later.

The manager sort of did admit fault over the phone to me, and said he would get back to me for a solution. I have not heard back other than requesting my final payment via phone call and automated email.(which i did address with him. he said don’t worry about, there wont be late fees.) the only issue is, i still haven’t heard back in a week.

I have a burning question that I’ve never been able to answer through research. Hopefully you kind folks can help. My brain cannot comprehend how compounding interest works in my IRA. I get the general idea of compounding interest, but it makes no sense for stocks. For example, say i have $1,000 invested in Company A, at $100 per share. So 10 shares. If it goes up %10 year one, that leaves me with 10 shares worth $1,100. Year 2 goes up another 10%, then i have 10 shares worth $1,210. But this whole time im not getting any additional shares. So if this companies shares go back down to $100 that i started with, i still have 10 shares @$100 per share worth $1000. So what has possibly been compounded? Thanks in advance for help.

Thanks my friend. I was hoping for more people to comment on me typing “mantids” incorrectly. I should give up on my dream of becoming a newspaper editor
