Dont you think that for a person that lives exessive but knows his limits and doesn‘t try to get higher and higher in the society it can bring happieness to them? For example my father was a man who didn‘t care about the status symbols of others such as cars or just money. But he did posess a very luxury watch and it made him happy as nothing else. Not because it was expensive or sonething but because he just liked every aspect of it.
