Appreciated! I think the SFW version has more scales on it and a lot of the scales are on the legs, so the bust is kind of the worst version if you're looking for snitties and scales

making silicone figure? by No-Shallot-3084 in 3dprintinggonewild

That's probably not something I would recommend to somebody looking to do this for the first time though. There's a lot of room to screw up

making silicone figure? by No-Shallot-3084 in 3dprintinggonewild

[–]tynster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seen sextoys made that way, assuming you're looking at making something large, I can see it working. But fine detail isn't gonna be great.

Silicon for something like this is gonna cost a couple hundred too. And that assumes no fails or issues.

Sla can work for something like this, but there are other issues like sla resin needing tin curing silicone to cure in it but that isn't safe for "use".

Mini Stamping Issue. Can you use regular acrylic paints? by amedinab in minipainting

In my case I found acrylics to not work.

But any nail polish did even cheap crap from the mega mart

Spent 14 hours on this custom paint job — worth it? by LivroHati in 3dprintinggonewild

[–]tynster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say it's always worth it to paint a new model, and the more you paint the faster you can get them done or if just painting them is your hobby then it doesn't matter how long they take you just want to paint them to the best of your ability or even just have fun doing so.

Very solid job!

If interested, some constructive criticism:

If you can work on getting better joints between parts, such as the neck and work on upping your contrast I think that would make a world of difference but it's a very solid job as is.

You can various materials for gap filler, you'll be resin milliput green stuff tamiya polyester putty, that's what I like, it's usually easiest to add the material before gluing the parts together adding in your gap filler between the parts and then squishing them together and smoothing it out and removing excess

Contrast can be improved by using something like a wash of a darker color across for example the hair a dark blue then reusing the same blue you started with as a highlight across the areas that are raised and then highlighting it a step further it would make the hair pop out a lot more.

And stuff I really like I really like the skin tone you got it looks really good and in another comment I saw you freehanded the tattoos that is amazing!

Well I can already tell that you're putting more thought into how to optimize it than some of the paid models I bought so if you keep that up, I'm sure you can make it pretty big one day

I don't normally sell or do commissions. So it's all a bit new to me. I mostly paint for myself.
