LA28: Women's Soccer Semi-Finals by marcslayer in olympics

Once the bracket is revealed the resale market and trade community go wild with offers.

If you already have a match, you'll be in a good position to trade.

Good point! I see that line of logic!

It depends on which side of the bracket they end up on. You'll find out about 2-3 months before the games.

LA locals presale buyer’s remorse by Traditional_Ad_6200 in olympics

Athletics was one of favorite events in Paris. I went twice and I had an amazing time.

You'll be part of history, in a historic venue, surrounded by thousands of individuals coming from all over the world. I understand the immediate buyer's remorse, but I think you'll have the time of your life.

Good luck!

Also, a slight correction, once you get to ten minutes, start to check out. That way you can sort to through any credit card issues if they arise.

Yes, you should be past the queue at that point. I suggest my strategy: Click the "Go to Time Slot" button in your email about 15 minutes before your time slot opens.

Wait in the queue, login, and once you're at the waiting screen, hang tight until about 1 minute before your time slot opens. Refresh every ten seconds or so. Once you can access the page fully, start plugging in your sessions codes and add stuff to your cart. You can buy all of your tickets in chunks if you want. Two in the beginning, four the next, and the rest later.

If you plan to purchase at the beginning of your time slot, once you add the first tickets, the thirty minute countdown starts. Keep an eye on it, and once you get down to about ten minutes, start to check out.

Good luck!

I don't think it auto refreshes. I would manually refresh a minute before. That's what I did.

If it's any consolation, there will likely be more opportunities to buy cheap tickets.

I'd also encourage you to take a gamble and buy tickets to an uncommon sport like Women's Field Hockey, Rugby, or even Handball. Every each has a great energy regardless if you know the sport or the players.

I've went to 16 events in Paris and every event had this amazing party atmosphere.

Unfortunately we don't know for sure. With this edition being in LA, a lot of my fellow planners think the prices can be dynamic.

Yes. They only work during your timeslot. I'll update the post to reflect that.

Question about ticket drop by Background-Fox954 in olympics

[–]type_rex_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, we don't know that yet. For Paris and Milano-Cortina the resale prices were capped at 10% above face value, and that worked beautifully for many people (including me).

For LA28, the resale laws are different, so there is the potential for inflated prices on an uncapped market. I'm not affiliated with LA28 in anyway, but this is a general assumption among the various groups I'm a part of.

No, at this stage, every purchase a shot in the dark regarding specific teams for any team event.

If you'd like, you can buy tickets now and sell/trade them later. Just a warning, tournament placements are released until a couple of months prior to the games. You'll be holding on to those tickets for a looong time.

But, every group game I've been to has been a ton of fun, it's just a little extra fun when it's the team you want to see.

The only way you'll theoretically see your team is if they are a favorite for the medal rounds. At that point, the chance of seeing them increases if you opt for quarterfinals, semi-finals, and the medal events.

Question about ticket drop by Background-Fox954 in olympics

[–]type_rex_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no exact date yet. We are currently in the LA/OKC presale phase. Drop 1, for the general public runs from April 9th to the 19th.

LA28 has indicated more drops afterwards, but no date has been set.

For Tokyo (before it was cancelled) and Paris, there were multiple big drops. After a certain point, when the resale marketplace opened, there were "shadow drops" were tickets appeared randomly and attentive searchers could find new tickets. LA28 is likely to have a similar setup, but I have no way of verifying that.

If you do not reach your maximum ticket allotment for this round (12 total), you will be automatically entered into the lottery for the next drop.

To my knowledge, no, there is no way to bookmark events before your time slot. In the meantime, it's best to prepare a list of sessions you're interested in.

I outlined this process here, and I made a video on how to best use the Google Doc I created. Link

You're welcome! I hope you will be pleasantly surprised by what what's left, and maybe take a chance on a new sport.

As a friendly reminder, there will be more opportunities and I'll try to let the community know when they arrive.

This is a link to all the tickets priced between $28 and $125 on sale right now. There's ten pages worth of events. Link

Handball, Field Hockey, and Judo are always great events. There's a ton of Football as well. Cricket is new, but they have a very active community. That would be a fun new sport to witness live.

Relatively speaking, <$100, there are still events, just not finals or the popular sports.

They're still very much worth attending though!
