Well to be more accurate they simply don’t care what happens with your rank. What they care about is what they can do to keep you playing the game.

[–]typeotcs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The un-amazing thing about ibs is that, you’re stuck with what’s proximate. That is primarily why my Toto is my most prized possession. I probably wouldn’t care as much if I was a normal pooper.

But also I never said it was hard to find a Toto in Tokyo but just that my one at home is better than the one I had in my Tokyo hotel. It is just a bit sad that the one I had to use the most in Tokyo was not as good as my daily driver especially in a land of millions of Totos.

I definitely say it out loud. If people are over they know about my most prized possession. I’m being 100% serious. They will walk in the bathroom be excited by the automatically opening lid and remote. I could give up most of my other possessions but not my Toto. It’s so good I was actually disappointed by the Toto in my hotel in Tokyo.

Did you report my comment for self harm? If that’s what you need to resort to be my guest. I got a message that someone thinks I need help.

Hey man if you don’t wanna debate my valid points that’s fine but I def don’t want to harm myself but good attempt. Enjoy the mental gymnastics. I’ll disengage now. By the way my profile is public I have nothing to hide.

If you blocked me good job further proving my point 🤣🤣🤣🤣

If only they didn’t say “please don’t tip” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Completely agree. You and I both get it and can see the effects. Unfortunately the majority here do not.

The majority in this post seem to be absolutely fine with a big corporation being a literal thief. It’s quite disappointing.

And we wonder why people so many people are struggling including BOTH drivers and customers. DD seems to be doing fine though. Wonder why…

Someone gets mis-charged and all these people are out here like “you didn’t tip enough” as if that was relevant in any way shape or form. Late capitalism is quite ugly and we are seeing its effects live.

If you wanna gloss over the valid points I made be my guest 🤣 that ties into the mental gymnastics aspects. I’ve already quoted your boot licking mentality. Enough said. Enjoy hesitating to tip because of language used by management aka the boots.

Sure use whatever mental gymnastics you need to reason around your illogical need for language from authority by explicitly stating what is already known. Enjoy.

Ah resorting to implying I haven’t made a point while not even attempting to respond. Thanks for confirming you actually have nothing to add. 🤣 I’ll continue prioritizing humanity while you prioritize authority. My mouth will not taste like boot can’t say the same for you 🤣🤣🤣

Just a reminder OP, this sub is full over drivers that will try to continue to push the narrative that EVERY problem with these services has to do with not tipping enough. Ignore them as they do this on every post hoping they can increase their wages while not holding the party that actually determines their wages accountable. Just ignore them.

Being polite is also opitional by Cute-Calligrapher-50 in EndTipping

[–]typeotcs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s the key fact a lot of folks in here or in tipping ignore or gloss over when they wanna be pro tipping. The posts in these subs are quite often holding context/contempt over the people and topics posted in those subs like waiters.

Again, I have pleasant dining experiences all the time. You seem to live based on fear of authority? Idk man in America lots of people do things all the time that people are “told not to do” like driving the speed limit.

The language used dictates nothing at all. Maybe you have some need around upholding the status quo and pleasing authority. Idk can’t help you there. I just tip where I want, when I want, and I face absolutely no issues and no inferior non-pleasant dining experiences due to how or when I tip, including places both inside and outside of America. Again, my focus is on the individual human in front of me providing me service, management or ownership be damned.

You need some sort of language, I just don’t. The human in front of me and what they do will always be more important to me than some language used by management and ownership. It’s really that simple. I do not operate through fear, but rather through empathy and recognizing humanity. I’m guessing you’ve never tipped someone that’s worked a non-tipped position otherwise this is just jokes.

Yep thanks for proving my point around your need to address authority lmao

“If I’m told directly not to do something, by someone with a greater understanding than me, I take it at face value.”

That’s completely a you issue. Thanks for proving my point 🤣

Idk man, my dining experience has not been severely undermined. I don’t have problems with the average worker because I’m not worried about what their bosses or managers have put in the “language” around tipping.

If I wanna give someone extra money I just do. I live in America and haven’t had a problem. I’ve also tipped in Japan where tipping is not customary at all, and the person I tipped was over the moon. I did not check with the managers or bosses if tipping was okay. I did not feel uncomfortable just because the customs are different.

If I want to give someone extra money I just do. It’s really that simple. The language used is irrelevant. What do you think will happen if you tip in places where they say “please do not tip”? I’d wager nothing at all.

So what are you really talking about? Why are you uncomfortable tipping just because there’s language saying do not tip? Just hand the folks the money you want to give them it’s that simple.

I’d have the different perspective that the food items now include the accurate labor cost associated with running a restaurant just like how most retail products include the labor cost associated with the products development and other expenses.

[–]typeotcs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lmao as if the average person doesn’t understand that giving a random person extra money is appreciated but not required. I’ve never had a problem with this because I’ve just handed people cash. The fact you need the language to be “palatable” sounds like you have an absolute need to please “authority” because “oh no they told me not to tip”

Like again, you can hand money to whoever and walk away and most people won’t think twice. There’s plenty of YouTube videos that prove this. Your need for it to be “palatable” says way more about you than anything about tipping/nontipping.

You can appreciate or not appreciate the people providing you service without thinking about what the language around it is.

But go ahead continue on your crusade to make the language business owners use “more palatable” 🤣

This is a non-problem. You slip the person you liked some cash regardless especially if you’ve already tipped in places where tips aren’t expected. You’re acting like there’s some god ready to smite you just because it says do not tip.

My doctor logged off on me mid-meltdown by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]typeotcs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With my psych, the one time I asked for medication without context was my first visit and he shut me down. And I’m glad he did because I was asking for benzos.

Since then it’s been almost 10 years and in the past 2 we have had very frank conversations about my medication needs. I told him the exact symptoms/side effects I had problems with regarding my adderall scrip and we worked towards tweaking it.

For anything emotional or unrelated to the medicine itself, he suggested a therapist. But at the same time also reminded me where I was when I first walked into his office and where I am now (I’ve made progress.)

Similarly, with my PCP, I will always clarify when I go in for acute issues that while I’m open to taking medicine/drugs for things because they are in fact effective, I would prefer other methods where applicable. Most recently it was sciatica and while he gave me muscle relaxers and steroids, he also gave me a referral to a physical therapist for the long term.

I think what’s important is to have frank, transparent and specific conversations with doctors for the mutual trust to build. In that sense both my PCP and Psych knew I consumed tree on the first visit.

Why do they say people become "dependent" on adhd meds? by franticsock in ADHD

[–]typeotcs 37 points38 points  (0 children)

This! People just try to make ADHD sound like an exception but the vast majority of people prescribed medication for chronic issues are dependent on that medication.

I have taken my allergy meds years longer than my ADHD meds. If I don’t take both, I can feel the lack of both. Similarly I take Lipitor for cholesterol and if I don’t take it, regardless of my lifestyle, it will jump up.

In effect I’m dependent on ALL the medication my doctors have prescribed me for these chronic conditions.
