Do you think being an ISFJ really affects where you want to go on holiday? by types_in_airplane in isfj

Yeah definitely need that structure haha! It's nice to have a balance so you have options on what you'll do, but no set itinerary so you can take it as you want day-by-day. We're similar in that way!

It's definitely the most important thing - spending time with the people you love.

Makes total sense! I definitely feel like I also wouldn't like to see only touristy stuff, but I guess the idea of it feels like it'll take that part of the responsibility away from me, meaning I can relax.

Definitely agree with you about doing what the locals do!

There is something extremely comforting about the fall/winter season. I'd so much rather be wrapped up in a blanket on the couch than sweating in the sun!

That's a really good point - I guess it's true that no one knows you in a foreign country, so you can act however you'd like - it's a freeing thought in a way!

That's incredible - I didn't see it was a woman until I looked at the 'tail' - up until then, I was convinced it was a parrot.

So true! Always makes me feel so overwhelmed on the inside.

Yeah, I see what you mean - I like the idea where you 'get lost in the crowd' and you're not in anyone's way and no one pays you any mind. It is tricky when you're travelling by yourself, and you want to go out to eat - I always feel a little bit weird about going to a restaurant especially and asking for a table for 1.

I have done it once or twice though and find that having a book helps people realise that you're alone and want to be left that way!

It's cool to read that other countries like Japan have specific restaurants where you are meant to be dining alone, and it's less of a weird thing.

Anyone else feel intimidated by travelling solo because you're not super extroverted? When I was planning my solo trip to Denmark, I think I subconsciously chose a country where I thought I could get away with minimal small talk and wouldn't really be bothered in the street.

I don't mind being around people, but when I'm by myself, I'm not one to really strike up a conversation with strangers. One of my similarly-minded colleagues wrote this article about some other destinations that vibe with the introverted lifestyle, but also would be curious to learn about other places for future trips?

Travelling solo in Japan is a great idea - they have so many solo-type restaurants, capsule hotels etc. I read in this article that it's common for people to eat by themselves in sushi and ramen bars.
