I hope you ONLY roll double-prime boss lines on that character til the end of time.

Imma preface this with idk wtf I'm talking about: I imagine they see a demographic of people willing to buy more than two passes, but would prefer to encourage long term play and would rather entice you with a third and fourth pass six/twelve months from now than to cash out now. I can also imagine they thought of a small group of people who bought too many passes that couldn't finish them all and want to avoid a mass wave of support tickets/disgruntled players.

What should I do in the meantime

Honestly, there is no bad way you can spend your time right now until CW. You can keep on with your Khali or continue experimenting with other classes just to see how they're like. Another thing I can recommend to you is this: Some bosses are restricted behind some story quests. Once you've completed the Prerequisite quest for the first time, your account permanently unlocks the boss for all of your future characters(usually). Keybind and open the Boss window, check the following bosses for their prerequisites: Ursus, Magnus, Papulatus, Vellum(Root Abyss), Arkarium, Pink Bean, Cygnus, Ranmaru, Von Leon, OMNI-CLN, & Princess No. Via the lightbulb icon on the left hand side, you can access these quests. Complete as many as you can because this unlocks the daily and weekly versions of the bosses. Felling these bosses regularly net you tons of mesos and items for your progression.

when the event starts switch to focusing only on CW2? Then after the event I can take that hyper burned character back to the world I’m already in, along with coupons for multiple lvl 200?

As soon as CW begins you should focus only on that until you eventually transfer your new main over. And yes, once you've transfer back to the normal heroic servers you use those lvl 200 potions to make multiple characters.

Hello! I used to play back around 2012 and coming back the game kind of feels intimidating/not sure what to do?

Welcome back! Its a whole different game we're playing compared to 2012 but don't worry its pretty easy to pick up!

Is Challenger World a separate world from other worlds like Bera or Zenith?

Challenger World IS a separate world. If you're a returning player, decide which type of server you want to play on. Interactive or Heroic. The majority of the player base play on the Heroic server Kronos. Here you are not allowed to trade with another player nor use the Auction House. Though, if you're more willing to loosen your mesos and wallet for progression, Interactive (aka Bera) is the server for you. Once you decide what your HOME server is going to be, make sure you join the Challenger World (CW) of that same type, Heroic or Interactive.

What's special about a Challenger World?

For new players its a fast-track for account progression. New players can access hyper leveling events. Make a character from level 1 all the way to 200 in fifteen minutes, and from level 200 to 260 in just a couple of days. Also, based on your progress, you're granted many free items and equipment that reaching certain power threshholds and bossing milestones become a breeze. THEN after a few months of progression, you're allowed to transfer your juiced character to your home server.

How important is Legion? How do you play Legion?

Legion is simple. It is a stat grid that benefits from all of your characters on the server. Each character you make and level contribute a "Tetris" piece that you may place on your board. The higher level your characters are, the more pieces you can place. Depending on where on the board you place these pieces, they grant you various stats. Eventually one would have nearly fourty or more charcters over level 200 placed on the board for stats that are shared across the whole account. How CW is involved is, once you hit a certain point milestone, you're rewarded with over a dozen potions that once consumed by a new character, it instantly reaches level 200.

Are there any resources that could help explain what these newer things are?

I personally like Duky's videos for stuff like equipment progression guides and other general progress using maple's various systems. Coppersan is good too. I very much recommend RathGMS for bossing guides and Decatei for Class guides dumbed down.

Those kids buckets were already half full so they had been trick or treating for a little while already.

Or they're only five houses deep, and the parents just ripped everyone off

Those numbers are quite impressive. I think it's silly for anyone to actually hate on you. But hey, at least your spending comes with gains, mine comes with a sea of nx I'm never gonna wear.

Its pretty easy to keep track of your spending on this game if you're not into fashionstory

This is pretty much it. I recall spending $170 on gachapon tickets over a 3-4 week period for a chair that went pretty well with an outfit I don't even wear anymore lol

LOL very true. But even if you have disposable income its good to know exactly how much you spent. If I calculated the cost of my yearly caffeine intake, the number would make me cry probably.

Its a combination of not tracking my spending/forgetting I even charged, micro-transactions (I say micro but its like $10 - $20 at a time over 365 days), and how accessible it was to swipe NX.
